THE UNITED STATES OF HAPPINESS (The U.S.H Company)
A case study by Guru Media & Entertainment
ABOUT THE COMPANY
The USH Company specializes in creating unique gifting experiences, offering a wide range of packaging from chocolate wonders (customized as per your needs) to Trousseau packing or wrapping of any gift – themed or plain. They also create customized greeting cards, envelops, tags and corporate gifts & giveaways.
BRIEF/STRATEGY
The brief was to create a complete identity for the company from scratch. This included the brand name, logo, stationery and website, along with social media. The thought for the brand and its name stemmed from the idea that ‘the act of gifting makes everyone happy’. Guru extended that thought a little further to turn the brand into a country or nation of gifting.
CHALLENGE
The biggest challenge was in creating the tone and mood of the identity. The brand had to appeal to a host of individuals of all age groups and could not therefore seem childish, yet it had to be simple and loveable.
EXECUTION
To maintain simplicity and appeal, Guru thought of random doodling because: a. What makes a person happy are not things in particular,
but those at random, even the simplest of things b. Guru also kept in mind the aspect of sharing. Doodling is
simple to do, easy for everyone & something we all dabble in. This therefore increases the share-ability factor, especially with respect to social media
LOGO & IDENTITY
Happiness is all about colour, while being part of a nation is about pride. The logo, represented by a peacock, represents being proud to be part of a nation that supports happiness. In addition, the letters ‘U’, ‘S’ & ‘H’ are doodled to come together to form the logo. The complete identity of the brand is represented through doodles throughout and on all mediums, including stationery, website and Social Media platforms.
