1. Login
Through the ProTrader application users are able to access both the demo and live platforms. Kindly
note, that demo and live platforms will have different credentials.
The application has the ability for the user to “save password” to have the application remember their
password.
By tapping on the Demo account link user can register a demo account through the Protrader.com
website.
*Recommended iOS version 7 or higher.
2. Layout
Watchlist – select symbols for analysis and trading.
Positions – all open positions are displayed in this screen.
Orders – this screen has three tables displaying: active, filled and orders' book.
Accounts – accounts lookup and information.
News – screen with news updating real-time.
Chat – for contacting broker, using instant messaging.
Event log – displays a log of events that occurred during your session.
Settings – allows setting of general and trading settings.
Log out – exit from application.
At the bottom of the Main menu you can see account details for your account.
3. Settings
Settings for mobile application can be accessed from the main menu. In order to open settings from the
application, tap on the Settings button in the main menu.
Settings tab consists of four sections: Defaults, Confirmations, Chart settings and Environment.
3.1. DEFAULTS
In Defaults settings section user can adjust the following:
Quantity – the amount of lots for opening an order.
Order type – user can choose among 6 types of orders: Market, Limit, Stop, Stop limit, Tr.
Stop, OCO (One Cancels the Other).
TIF - allows trader to be more specific about the time parameters in which an order is
activated. User can choose from Day, GTC (Good Till Cancel), IOC (Immediate or Cancel),
FOK (Fill or Kill), GTD (Good Till Date).
Quantity in lots - if checked, quantity is displayed in lots, if unchecked – in units.
Show close orders (SL/TP) – if checked, close orders will be shown in the Active orders
section, otherwise - will not be shown.
Show SL/TP price in offset – if checked, the SL/TP prices are set in offset, if unchecked - in
absolute values.
3.2. CONFIRMATIONS
In Confirmations settings section user can adjust the following:
Position closing - when position closing is checked, closing a position must be approved by
the user.
Position modifying - when position modification is checked, modification of a position must
be approved by the user.
Order sending - when order sending is checked, order placement must be approved by the
user.
Order modifying - when order modification is checked, modification of an order must be
approved by the user.
Order cancelling - when order canceling is checked, canceling of an order must be
approved by the user.
Order executing - when order execution is checked, execution of an order must be
approved by the user.
3.3. ENVIRONMENT
In Environment section user can adjust the following:
Enable sounds – this option shows enabled sounds or not.
Warn if trading halt – if checked, user receives notifications about trading halt by symbol.
3.4. CHARTS
Chart settings:
Chart style - the style of the chart. There are four options: candles, bars, line, and area.
Show orders - if checked, all sent orders will be visible on the chart.
Show positions - if checked, all opened positions will be visible on the chart.
Fit orders/positions - if checked, orders/positions will be visible on a Chart that
automatically scales.
Cache size - volume of cache used for the Chart screen.
Default timeframe - the period of time with which the Chart screen will be opened by
default each time.
Show loupe - if checked, user can manually turn on the magnifying glass at any desired
location on the chart.
Volume - if checked traded volume bars will be shown on the chart.
User is able to change password by taping on "Change password" button. The following intuitive screen
will be opened:
The Chart screen can be accessed only from the Watchlist screen.
Tap on the name of the symbol or on the in order to open the following menu:
Tap on the Chart button to open it:
The Chart screen can be viewed in two modes: vertical and horizontal.
3.5. TOOLBAR
The Chart toolbar is located in the header of the Chart screen. It consists of 4 buttons:
Aggregation – tap on the aggregation box in order to change the time frame of the chart.
Drawing tools – opens the drawing tools toolbar.
Indicators – choose the needed indicator for technical analysis.
Settings – opens Chart settings screen.
3.6. DRAWING TOOLS
To open the drawing tools toolbar, tap on the drawing tools icon:
Select the needed tool and place it manually on the chart. Slide to the left to view all drawing tools. In
order to delete the tool tap button located in the left corner of the drawing tools toolbar, after
that tap on the tool to delete it.
3.7. INDICATORS
In order to add the new indicator tap on the indicator icon located on the chart toolbar. The screen with
indicator manager will be opened:
Choose the indicator category (Band, Moving average, Oscillator, Index) tap on the "+" button near the
indicator.
Then set indicator’s parameters:
And click "x" button. All changes are applied automatically.
To delete an indicator tap button "x" located near indicator’s name, in order to delete all indicators tap
on the "Recycle bin" icon.
3.8. SETTINGS
To access chart settings, tap on the button , located in the right corner of the chart toolbar, the
following screen will be opened:
User can set the following parameters in the Chart settings:
Chart style – the style of the chart. There are four types of it: candle, bar, line, area.
Show orders – if checked, all send orders will be visible on the chart.
Show positions – if checked, all opened positions will be visible on the chart.
Fit orders/positions - if checked, all orders/positions will be fit into the chart scaling.
Show loupe - if checked, user can manually turn on the magnifying glass at any desired
location on the chart.

3.9. ORDER ENTRY
The Order Entry (OE) screen enables user to send orders. The "OE" icon is located in the top right
corner of the Chart screen above the "Settings" icon:
4. Watchlist
The Watchlist screen is accessible through the main menu of application. It displays the list of subscribed
symbols by the user and their data.
In order to get full symbol information tap on the Symbol name. For each symbol, the following
information and small chart is available:
Bid - the last best Bid price.
Ask - the last best Ask price.
Change - the price deviation from the current day's opening price.
Change, % - the price deviation from current day's opening price in a percentage.
Last - the last trade price.
Spread - the change for current price in ticks (Ask-Bid).
Volume - the total amount traded today.
Open - the day's open price.
High - the day's highest price.
Low - the day's lowest price.
Prev. close - the previous day's close price.
Ticks - displays quantity of L1 quotes that came from provider.
Settl. price - shows value of the current settlement price.
Prev. settl. price - shows value of the previous day settlement price.
Open interest - amount of open positions.
4.1. SYMBOL MENU
By tapping on the name of the symbol the Symbol menu toolbar will be shown in the bottom of the
screen .
Order entry – opens a new Order entry screen for selected symbol.
Chart – opens the chart screen for selected symbol.
Market depth - opens the level 2 quotes for selected symbol.
Symbol info - opens the panel with full information about the symbol; there are five
sections: general, trading, margin requirements, fees and session.
4.2. EDITING WATCHLIST
In order to edit the list of displayed symbols tap on the "Watchlist editor" button, located in the top
right corner of the Watchlist screen.
Choose the needed symbol group and exchange from the dropdown list, and then check/uncheck the
desired symbols. Checked symbols are automatically appeared in the Watchlist.
In order to clear the Watchlist, tap on the button. All changes are saved automatically.
User can sort symbol cards in the Watchlist by the following actions: simply press on the symbol card for
a long time, then drag & drop it on the needed place in the list.
5. Order Entry
The Order Entry screen enables user to send orders. The OE button is located on the top right
corner of the Chart screen. Also it is accessible from the Symbol menu which is located on the bottom of
Watchlist screen.
In OE users can see detailed information about the traded symbol: its name, type, price, quantity, TIF
and information about bid and ask. Also there are Sell and Buy buttons for trading.
5.1. ORDER TYPE
Market order guarantees execution at a market price.
Limit order is placed with a brokerage to buy or sell a set number of shares at a specified
price or better.
Stop order is placed to buy or sell a security when its price surpasses a particular point,
thus ensuring a greater probability of achieving a predetermined entry or exit price,
limiting the investor's loss or locking in his or her profit.
Stop limit order will be executed at a specified price (or better) after a given stop price has
been reached. Once the stop price is reached, the stop-limit order becomes a limit order to
buy (or sell) at the limit price or better.
"Sell" trailing stop order sets the stop price at a fixed amount below the market price on
the trailing offset. As the market price rises, the stop price rises by the trail amount, but if
the stock price falls, the stop loss price doesn't change, and a market order is submitted
when the stop price is hit. "Buy" trailing stop orders are the mirror image of sell trailing
stop orders.
OCO - is an order stipulating that if one part of the order is executed, then the other part is
automatically canceled.
5.2. TIF
Day order, as the name implies, is valid for the current trading day.
GTC (Good till cancelled) orders, on the other hand, will remain alive until they are
cancelled.
IOC (Immediate or Cancel Order) requires that all or part of the order be executed
immediately after it has been brought to the market.
FOK (Fill or kill) – requires to execute the entire transaction immediately and completely or
not to execute it at all.
GTD (Good till date) allows input date until which the order will be cancelled if not
executed.
5.3. CLOSING ORDERS
Stop loss;
Trailing;
Take profit.
Note: SL offset and TR offset cannot be checked together.
6. Market Depth
The Market depth screen allows users to view and trade Level II quotes. It is accessible only from the
Symbol menu in the Watchlist screen.
The Market depth header displays the information about the symbol:
Last - the last traded price.
Change – the price deviation from the current day’s opening price in percent.
Spread – the change for current price in pips (Ask-Bid).
The main quote section consists of three columns:
Price - buy or sell price from the highest Bid and the lowest Ask to lower Bid and higher
Ask.
Size - the volume being offered to purchase at a specified Bid price or to sell at specified
Ask price.
CCY size – shows value of Ask/Bid size recalculated in the quoting currency, Price*Ask/Bid
size.
6.1. COLOURING METHOD
Level 2 quotes is colored on the assumption that the max volume has the most saturated color. All other
volumes are sorted in ascending order and colored in proportion to the volume values.
6.2. CENTERING
The centering in the table by default is made at the best prices, if user scrolls down the table centering
will be disabled (reopen the Market depth screen to enable it).
By tapping on the Bid/Ask row the Order entry screen automatically opens. The chosen BID/ASK price is
placed as a limit price in OE automatically.
7. Positions
The Positions screen is accessible through the Main menu. It shows all opened positions. Every new
opened position appears in this screen immediately.
Long positions are displayed in the list with blue color arrow, short positions – with red.
The Position screen displays the list of opened positions with short information about the symbol on
which the position was opened: quantity, open price and Gross P/L. In order to get full information
about the symbol, tap on the symbol name.
Fee – shows the total commission amount taken for the position.
Date/time – shows date and time the position was opened.
Current price – the market price obtainable from the broker.
Stop loss – the Stop loss price set for the position.
Take profit – the Take profit price set for the position.
Position exposure – shows the exposure of a position in the account currency. Value is
calculated on base of open price.
Position ID – unique number that the trading system assigns to each position.
Swaps – shows amounts collected/paid out by the broker when a position is rolled over to
a new value date.
Account – login name of the account that opened the position.
In addition, users can close all positions by tapping on the button located on the top right corner
of the Positions screen.
In order to modify position, tap on the 'Modify' button and the following screen will be opened:
Here user is able to modify stop loss, take profit or trailing stop.
In order to close the position, tap on the 'Close' button.
To view symbol’s chart, tap on the button.
8. Orders
The Orders screen can be accessed through the Main menu. It shows three lists (slide button to change
the list) of orders:
Active orders – shows orders that are waiting for execution.
Filled orders – shows executed orders.
Orders book – each row displays info regarding creation, modification, execution or
cancelling of orders.
Buy orders are displayed in the list with blue color arrow, sell orders – with red.
Each section consists of the list with short information about the order: quantity, open price and order
status; for filled orders - columns Order type and Net P/L. In order to get full information about the
symbol on which the order was created, tap on the symbol name.
Date/Time – date and time when the order was placed (executed, filled, modified, or
cancelled).
Current price – market price obtainable from broker.
Stop price – stop price for special stop order.
TIF – the order's time in force.
Order ID – unique number that the trading system assigns to each order. If a position is
opened based on an order, the position will have the same number.
Stop loss – stop loss price set for the order.
Take profit – take profit price set for the order.
Qty. filled – executed quantity of the order when only part of the order was executed.
Qty. remaining – difference between quantity and executed quantity when only part of the
order was executed.
Bound to (OCO) - ID of the order which another order is bound to; if the former is
executed, system will cancel the latter.
Account – login name of the account that opened the order.
Additional columns for Filled orders and Orders book sections:
Trade ID – unique number of the trade.
Exposure – quantity recalculated in account currency.
Fee – shows commission connected with the trade.
Bought – if Side = Buy, then this column shows the value of Price * Lot size * Qty in base
currency; if Side = Sell, then this column shows the value of Price * Lot size * Qty in quoting
currency.
Sold – if Side = Sell, then this column shows the value of Price * Lot size * Qty in base
currency; if Side = Buy, then this column shows the value of Price * Lot size * Qty in
quoting currency.
In addition, users can cancel all orders by tapping on the button located in the top right corner of
the Orders screen.
In order to modify active order, tap on the 'Modify' button and the following screen will be opened:
Here user can modify price, quantity, TIF, Stop loss, Trailing, and Take profit. In addition, order can be
executed at a market price.
In order to cancel the order, tap on the 'Cancel' button.
To view symbol’s chart, tap on the button.
9. Accounts
The Accounts screen is accessible through the Main menu. The Accounts screen displays all accounts
available for the user.
In order to view the detailed information about the account, tap on its name.
Detailed statistics consists of three sections (slide to change the section):
Today – displays today results of trading on the account.
Activity – displays account’s general activity from the date of its activation.
General – displays general data on the account: its balance, equity, margin, etc. To view
this tab, tap on the 'More info' button.
10. News
The News screen lists the latest news available from broker and other news sources user is subscribed
to. News screen is available through the Main menu. To view news, tap the News button and choose the
news vendor from the list of available:
For each news story, the screen shows the time and date the story was received, and the story heading.
To read the story, simply tap on it and it will be opened.
11. Chat
The Chat screen is used for broker contacting with the help of instant messaging. It is accessible through
the Main menu.
For each message sent and received during the session, the Chat screen shows the time and the
message text.
In order to send a message, type it in the field at the bottom of the screen and
tap button. The broker's reply will be added to the screen when received.
12. Event Log
The Event log screen shows a log of events that occurred during trading sessions. Event log is accessible
through the Main menu.
The main screen lists all events. Entries are logged each time a position or pending order is opened,
closed or modified (including SL and TP). Each item indicates the action, its time and date.
Tap on the event in order to open full information about it:
Scroll down the list to observe other events.
