TheDualActionHand SprayGun is designed to give airblast fordie cleaning and

sprayof diecoat.Partiallypressing thehandlegivesairblas t forblowingaway scales

or forblowingaway excessdie coat.Pressing thehandle fullygives sprayof die coat.

    The Dual Action Hand

    SprayGun

    has

    two

    Hose

    Connectors: one for

    compressed air and the

    other for liquid (die coat).

    Air is stamped on the

    right front side of thebody

    to indicateairpath.TheAir

    Hose Connector is longer

    than Liquid Hose

    Connector. For standard

models use braided hose pipe of 8 mm inside diameter for both air and liquid

    connections.ForXT modelsusehosepipeswith BSP(G ) connectors.Thequantity

of the die coat canbe controlled usingbrass Liquid Control Valve located near top

diecoatcontainerat heightof minimum8 to 10 feetabove spraygun level.Forbigger

dies where requirement of die coat is higher pressure feeding arrangement is

recommended. Also where the die coat is a suspension then pressure feeding

arrangement may be needed since it is inconvenient to stir the die coat kept in a

    containerat

    height.

When using pressure feeding arrangement care should be taken to keep the liquid

supply pressure as low as possible. At higher liquid pressures the discharge from

    pressurefeeding tank is veryhighwhichmaycauseovercoolingof dieandwastageof

    diecoat.Theliquidsupplypressureof 0.2kg/cm2is alsosufficientto providenecessary

liquid discharge. For little increase in liquid pressure there is more increase in

    dischargefrompressurefeedtank.

    Theair

    pressure

    should

    be

    above

    5Kg/cm2 for

    powerful

    air

    blas t.

    Blasting

    effect

increases at higher air pressures and higher air volumes. Supply compressed air

directly from air supply line to the spray gun with least number of connectors in

between. It is not advisable to use quick release couplings for air, since it causes

reduction in airblas t. Any obstruction in the airpassage causes reduction in blasting

effect. When usingmodelHB 35 andwhen gentle spraying is desired the air canbe

    suppliedat @2Kg/cm2.

In modelDJ10 xxx theairpressureand liquidpressureneed to be ba lanced. If theair

pressure is muchhigher than liquid supplypressure then the airmaypush the liquid

back in the liquid supply line. In that case the air supply pressuremay need to be

reduced to overcome the problem of liquid backing out. Alternatively increase the

liquid supply pressure to avoid backing out of die coat. For model DJ 10 xxxPF

pressurefeedingarrangement is required as liquidat higherpressure is needed. To get

effective spray, increase the liquid supply pressure and/or reduce the air supply

    pressure.

    Theatomizationof liquid(diecoat)dependson airpressureanddiecoatquantity.The

fineness of atomization is directly proportional to air pressure and inversely

proportional to liquid quantity. Reduction in air pressure gives coarse atomization.

    Similarlyhigher liquiddischargequantitywillgivecoarseatomization.The spraygun

nozzle is essential for effectiveblastand effective atomisationof die coat.Replace the

    nozzlewhendamaged.

    Thecommonproblemfacedwiththespraygunis lessor no liquidbe ingsprayedandin

    majorityof

    cases

    the

    cause

    is

    foreign

    matter

    (like

    cotton

    waste

    threads)

    accumulation

    in

    theliquid passageof thespraygun.Careshouldbe takenwhilepreparingandhandling

diecoat to avoid foreignmatter getting in thedie coat. Alsowhere thedie coat is a

suspension thedie coat shouldbe filteredbefore use.Suspensionshave a tendency to

coagulate and lumps such formed can obstruct thedie coat flow.Onemay experience

intermittent / cyclic spraying. This happenswhen less liquid is be ing supplied to the

    spraygun.Increasetheliquidsupplypressureand/orflowto overcomethisproblem.

    On themachine,betweenoperationcycles,TheDualActionHandSprayGunneedsto

be stowed. Rest the spray gun on some round object/bar by placing the round bar

between handle of the spray gun and body. Do not hang the spray gun by the

aluminiumpipe as it couldputunnecessary loadon the aluminiumpipe causing it to

    getbend .

When the spray gun is not going to be used for more than a few hours, like on

    weekends,it

    is

    advisable

    to

    clean

    the

    liquid

    path

    in

    the

    spray

    gun

    to

    avoid

    drying

    of

diecoat in thespraygun. For flushing the liquidpath, shutof fairsupply to thespray

gunbutkeepthe liquidsupplyon. Useasuitableflushing liquid insteadof regulardie

coatandoperate the spraygun for some time.Forwaterbaseddie coatsjust flush the

liquidpath thoroughlyby plainwaterso thatno traces of diecoat remain in thespray
