Roles and Responsibilities

Agency Tactical Plans Business Case Development

Expected Activities

Executive Council Members

• Ensure completion of agency tactical plans

• Provide leadership, oversight and decision-making for agency steering committees

• Provide communication to agency leadership and Under/Asst. Secretaries

• Coordinate agency initiatives across the mission area

• Ensure development and completion of the business cases

• Ensure appropriate staff and resources for the business case teams in which agencies are leading and participating

• Raise significant issues and mission area concerns to Executive Council and provide appropriate guidance to business case leads

• Attend ½ - 1 hour weekly EC meeting on Tuesdays at 3:00pm

• Gather feedback from full-time representatives, WG member and business case leads on a weekly-biweekly basis

Working Group Members

• Lead the development of agency tactical plans

• Ensure coordination and communication between agency steering committees and EGWG

• Provide feedback and communication to and between Executive Council members

• Monitor 12 initiatives in the eGovernment strategic plan that are not “smart choices” (assign responsibility to individual WG members)

• Potentially participate in business case development (as requested by Executive Council members)

• Attend 1-2 hour bi-weekly WG meetings on Wednesdays (10:00am or 11:00am)

• Meet with Agency eGovernment Steering Committees as needed

Mission Area Full-time Representatives

• Provide feedback and field general questions and concerns from agencies in mission areas

• Serve as liaisons to business case leads and eGovernment Program Office

• Provide summaries of key issues and status to OCIO and Executive Council member from his/her mission area

• Attend and participate in weekly business case status meetings on Wednesday at 1:30pm

Agency Tactical Plan Schedule The first draft of the Agency Tactical Plans will be due in mid-March, and the final version must have approval from agency administrators by mid-April.

The majority of agencies and staff offices should receive their pre-populated Tactical Plan templates by Friday

Please continue to work on refining eGovernment application baselines (Appendix B for the Tactical Plans) in the meantime

Business cases for smart choice candidates kick off next week

Provide comments on the Draft USDA eGovernment Strategic Plan to [email protected] by COB Monday
