In 2 Samuel 24, we find another interesting moment in the life of King
David. The “Cliff Notes” version goes like this; David sent his men throughout the country to count every able-bodied fighting man. He wanted to know how much human force he could rely upon in the event of yet another military conflict. This task took over 9 months to complete, and when they finished, David knew that he had made a terrible mistake. Even now, late in life, David looked to his own power instead of leaning on the never-ending authority and supremacy of God; a lesson we all need to learn. So David confessed his sin and asked for forgiveness. However, God is just and sent His prophet to the King. The prophet Gad gave him three choices; a 3 year famine, an army pursuing him, or a plague on the people. He simply asked for mercy wanting God to choose. God sent the plague and David cried out to the Lord and decided to build an alter to Him. One of the people living in the land offered his threshing floor to the King but David answered, “No, I insist on paying you for it. I will not sacrifice to the Lord my God burnt offerings that cost me nothing.” David built the altar,
made sacrifices, and the Lord healed the land. Three lessons: God is in control and we bring nothing to the table. When you mess up, fess up, and finally, there is always a price paid for sin.

agradecido y acercarte a adorarle no alejarte. No
busque su rostro donde no lo hay. Se agradecido,
no pienses en tus planes o tus deseos busca a Dios
, el es fiel contigo.
