On the 19th of July the Luggate Community are going to make the Luggate Memorial Hall come alive with ‘A Christmas in July’ party.This will be a fundraiser for the Luggate Village Playgroup, so everyone within the Luggate surrounds is invited to come and celebrate and have a fun night out!It is a ‘Pot Luck Dinner’, so bring a plate of food either warm or cold and whatever you would like to drink, plus eating and drinking utensils.There will also be a raffle with awesome prizes and a live band, so be ready to dance the night away. Santa will make a special appearance too!

WANAKA

Last Thursday officers stopped an 18 year old male on Helwick Street after leaving a local bar. He was breath tested and blew 642 micrograms of alcohol per litre of breath. This is more than 4 times the youth drink drive limit. Under the land transport act in relation to drink driving, ‘youth’ is classed as under 20 years of age. In his explanation, he thought he would be under the limit. Clearly he did not understand that you cannot drive with any alcohol at all in your system as a youth driver.

5 minutes later police stopped a 28 year old man driving a car with a smashed in windscreen on Anderson Road. When he was breath tested he blew over twice the legal limit.

In the early hours of Sunday morning officers were parked on Ardmore Street. A male was showing off to his friends, and he rolled on the back of a police car and attempted to run from police. He was apprehended and faces a court appearance for disorderly behaviour.

Senior Constable Mclean is looking for witnesses to poor driving from a silver or grey Volkswagen 4x4 on the Crown Range - mornings and evenings in the last week. This appeal follows a recent complaint received by police regarding the driving of this vehicle.

I would like to publicize the fact that a temporary 50kmh speed restriction has been put in place on Cardrona Valley Road in the vicinity of James Road. This is due to the fact that there has been surface water on the road that has been prone to freezing and an accident occurred at that spot recently. Cardrona Valley Road can be treacherous in places and is an accident hot spot. Please drive carefully on this road and keep the speed down.

With the ski season underway, please check that your skis are safe and visible at all times, including them being attached to your vehicle correctly. Already reports of lost skis are coming in from either up on the fields or prior to leaving town.

The successful candidate will be tasked with ordering parts, all receipting and invoicing to workshop jobs and retail clients, inventory management, and the in house processing of branch paperwork. You must be able to work well with a small but committed team, at times unsupervised, while growing our customer base and parts turnover.

We are looking for applicants who can demonstrate:-At least 3 years experience in an administration or parts role-Excellent telephone manner, computer, customer service and communication skills;-A willing desire to meet our clients parts requirements in our busy harvest season
