There’s no Beetle like a low Beetle, and nowGAZ are offering special short front dampers forlowered Beetles made from 1965-79.

The dampers will also fit the Karmann Ghia andBeetle 1300A and 1500A from 1967-79.

Bushes for VW Golf Mk1Some would call the VW Golf Mk1 the original ‘hothatch’. Although the Mk1 is amazingly popular someof the original parts are now becoming harder to findreplacements for.

VW specialists, C&R Enterprises, were finding itincreasingly difficult to source the rear shockabsorber top mounting bushes and asked Powerflexif they could look at producing polyurethane versions

for the Mk1 Golf /Jetta and original Scirocco (1973-92).

The standard top mounts also had some inherent problems - over time the rubber would perishwhich often caused knocking. Also, when performance shock absorbers and springs were fittedthe original rubber mounts were placed under a lot more load, causing lateral movement in themount, reducing the potential benefits of the upgrade.

The answer to all this is the new Powerflex PFR85-241 rear shock absorber top mounting bush.It comes with a new stainless steel sleeve and a two part polyurethane bush for above and belowthe shell. The bushes have voiding around the contact faces to the chassis, limiting andcontroling the amount of noise and vibration transmitted into the bodyshell.

With the superior properties of polyurethane, PFR85-241 offers a positive location with reducedcompression, ideal when changing or upgrading springs and shock absorbers. Being a directreplacement they are also very easy to fit. Powerflex bushes offer improved reliability over theoriginal parts and of course carry the Powerflex Lifetime Warranty. Powerflex SteeringRack Mounting Bush

for MG ZSWith the demise of MG/Rover, originalparts are becoming increasinglydifficult to source.

Whilst rebuilding one of their MG ZSrace cars, Vulcan Racing found theoriginal steering rack mounting bushhad worn.

The worn bush caused movementwhere the rack mounts onto thechassis resulting in vague steeringand poor steering response.

Fortunately Powerflex have come to the rescue with a new product - the PFF42-520 SteeringRack Mounting Bush.

The new bush has an internal mesh to help stop the rack from moving within the mount. With thisadded grip there is now a more direct response to any steering action the driver makes.

Powerflex BlackSeries Bushes forSuzuki Swift Mk3

SportBack at the beginning of the yearPowerflex introduced a range ofpolyurethane bushes for the Mk3Suzuki Swift 1.6 16v Sport model.

Due to its popularity as a trackdaycar and its usage in motorsport,Powerflex have introduced a newrange of bushes for the EuropeanMK3 Swift using their harder “BlackSeries” racing material. To enable the suspension to be finetuned for individual tracks thesebushes are also adjustable.

The PFF73-401G front arm front bush has on-car adjustment giving +/- 1 degree of camber.The PFF73-402G front arm rear bush also allows on-car caster adjustment of +/- 0.33 degrees.

For the rear of the vehicle the PFR73-410 rear beam mounting bush offers a more securelocation of the beam but without blocking out its rear steer capability, helping the car to turn in.

For the engine and gearbox mounts, two inserts are available to be used in conjunction with theoriginal rubber mounts. The rear engine mount is PFF73-420, and the gearbox mount isPFF73-421. These restrict the amount of engine movement possible allowing for a more directpower delivery and better traction.
