Event Recap - Circle Up!
We had an incredible and inspiring evening at Circle Up, our kick-off party in June!Almost 100 women came out to celebrate our progress and learn about all the
exciting things to come. The setting was picturesque at Weaver Farms, as ladiessocialized and got to know their fellow members while enjoying delicious treats anddrinks. Huge thank you to everyone that came out to celebrate! We are feeling soblessed to be surrounded by such an extraordinary group of women. Check out

Board Member SpotlightErin Selvey, Grants Chair
With Grant season upon us, we felt it was appropriate to feature ErinSelvey as our first ever Board Member Spotlight. As Grants Chair, Erinwill be leading us throughout our grant process, educating members as
well as not-for-profits.
Erin was born in Springfield, IL and raised in Lincoln, IL. She graduatedfrom Lincoln Community High School and went on to Purdue University
where she received a Bachelors Degree in MechanicalEngineering. Erin was the first member of her family to receive a college
degree!
Over the course of her career at Caterpillar, Erin has held a variety ofpositions. She began her career working with dealers and customers on
Sales and Product Support issues – first in Harrisburg, PA, thenPhoenix, AZ and finally back in Peoria, iL. After these roles – which
spanned 15 years of her career – Erin began working on New ProductDevelopment programs. In late 2018 she transitioned back to a role
focused on the sale and support of machines in North America.
Erin married her husband Matthew in 2003. During their years inHarrisburg, PA they welcomed two sons – Rylan (b. 2008) and Jude (b.2011). Most of their time outside of work is spent running their boys toswim meets, soccer games, Cub Scout activities and Lego League! Inwhat little free time remains Erin enjoys reading, knitting, live music and
spending time with friends & family.
Volunteer your talent!We are looking for members to serve on on our GrantReview committees! Committees will be responsible forresearching and reviewing grant applications, serving asliaisons with grantees, and performing site visits with grantfinalists. There will be approximately 5 meetings per grantcycle. No experience is required, as training will beprovided. If you are interested, please email Erin Selveyat [email protected]. We will alsoprovide an opportunity to sign up at our next event.

Congratulations to Board Member, HedyElliott, who was named Peoria PublicSchool's 2019 Donald M PharesClassroom Teacher of the Year. She isalso the founder of the MoonlightCoalition for Adult Learning whichprovides provides accessible, flexible GEDand adult literacy education to adults ages17 and up. When Moonlight was looking forseed money to start a full time program, an
Impact Member, Julie Locke Moore is thefounder of The DAX Foundation, a not-for-profit organization which helps the childrenand families of St. Jude Children's ResearchHospital and other families in need. WhenJulie's son passed away after a valiant battlewith Leukemia, she felt a calling to give back- in a big way. Her journey brought her on amission to make a transformationaldifference in the lives of those St. Jude
organization such as IMPACT stepped upand gave Moonlight the start that theyneeded. Because of that initial grant andyears of obtaining more grants and privatedonations, Moonlight's fundraising effortshave topped well over a million dollars. Theynow serve 250 students a year and thatinitial seed money has been given back tothe community, by the success of theirstudents. Hedy is thankful to now have theopportunity to give another organization thesame chance that she was given.

This life-changing gift has allowedher to help build the Ronald McDonaldHouse for St. Jude patients here in Peoria.The 22-room house will serve over 700families a year. The Dax Wing at Peoria'sNew Ronald McDonald House will feature 5Hero Room suites that families will call homewhile their children are using Peoria's awardwinning pediatric care facilities. In total, theDax Foundation has pledged to raise $1Million to build the Dax Wing in Peoria's newRonald McDonald House.
