KAŠTELANSKO KULTURNO LJETOKaštelansko kulturno ljeto najveća je kulturna manifestacija u Kaštelima, na čijem se programu nalaze brojna glazbena, kazališna, plesna, izložbena i slična događanja . Grad Kaštela u suradnji s Turis�čkom zajednicom, brojnim udrugama građana, kulturnim organizacijama i ustanovama te pojedincima organizira programe kulture na gotovo svim trgovima, rivama, ulicama i dvorcima. I tako već dugi niz godina, program Kaštelanskog kulturnog ljeta sve je boga�ji i popularniji kako među Kaštelanima tako i njihovim gos�ma.

Mediterranean spirit created over the centuries. Each of the seven Kaštela villages represents unique historic heritage da�ng back to the Stone Age (Mujina Cave), Illyrian period (hillforts), Roman period (Sikuli), the oldest Early Croa�an monuments, and unique medieval castles in Kaštela.

KAŠTELA CULTURAL SUMMER The Kaštela Cultural Summer is the biggest cultural event in Kaštela whose program consists of many music, theater, dance, exhibi�on and similar events. The Town of Kaštela in associa�on with the Kaštela Tourist Board, many civil socie�es, cultural socie�es and ins�tu�ons and individuals, organize cultural programs on nearly all squares, waterfronts, streets and castles. For a number of years already, the program of the Kaštela Cultural Summer has become richer and more popular both among the inhabitants of Kaštela as well as their guests.

SVEČANOST OTVARANJA KKLJ

Zastava KKLJ podignut će se u subotu 1. srpnja u 21 sat, na brcu u Kaštel Starom, nakon što gradonačelnik grada Kaštela, Denis Ivanović proglasi otvorenim ovogodišnje Kaštelansko kulturno ljeto. Večer će poče� prigodnim programom nekoliko kaštelanskih društava a nastavit će se koncertomsplitskog tenora Saše Jakelića, glazbenika koji se u više od dva desetljeća pjevačke karijere bavio pop, opernom i klapskom glazbom, a član je i stalnog ansambla zbora opere HNK u Splitu. Bit će to pravi uvod u još jedno Kaštelansko kulturno ljeto ispunjeno brojnim kulturnim događanjima domaćih i gostujućih umjetnika i skupina.

Osmi Dani tradicije – Kaštela 2017, održat će se od 23. do 25. lipnja 2017. godine u K. Novom na Brcu i Rivi u organizaciji TZG Kaštela pod pokroviteljstvom Grada Kaštela, Županije splitsko‐dalma�nske, Turis�čke zajednice Splitsko‐dalma�nske županije, Cemex Hrvatska d.o.o. i suorganizaciji Udruge za promicanje kvalitete života, kulturnih vrijednos� i baš�ne “Šušur”. The flag of the Kaštela Cultural Summer will be hoisted on July 1 (Saturday) at 21:00, at Brce in Kaštel Stari, a�er Denis Ivanović Mayor of Kaštela proclaims this year's Kaštela Cultural Summer open. The evening will begin with a fes�ve program of several music and cultural‐ar�s�c

socie�es from Kaštela and will con�nue with the concert of Split tenor Saša Jakelić, a musician who, in his more than twenty‐year‐long music career, has covered pop, opera, and a cappella singing and is also member of the permanent ensemble of the Croa�an Na�onal Theater opera choir. This will be a true introduc�on to yet another Kaštela Cultural Summer filled with numerous cultural events with local and interna�onal ar�sts and groups.

Revija tradicijskih nošnji i obrtništva Nostalgija 23. 06. 2017 (petak), na Brcu u K.NovomKroz reviju tradicijskih nošnji i obrtništva „Nostalgija“ predstavit će se unikatne modne kreacije kao spoj tradicije i vrhunske mode, hrvatski tradicijski plesovi, glazba i narodni običaji Kaštela. Nakon revije ‐degustacija izvornih kaštelanskih I slovenskih jela i pića na rivi u K. Novom.Etno večer 24. 06. 2017. (subota)Međunarodna etno večer – folklorna društva predstavit će narodne običaje kroz plesove i glazbu.Cilj nam je da u ovoj trodnevnoj manifestaciji posje�telji osjete i dožive Kaštela i Hrvatsku kroz mirise i okuse gastro ponude, zvuke folklora, modne novitete i izvorne hrvatske suvenire. MEĐUNARODNA LJETNA ŠKOLAU organizaciji Ljetne škole Kaštela, koja djeluje u sklopu HGD Biranj, i ovoga će se ljeta u dvorcu Vi�uri, održa� više koncerata klasične glazbe na kojima će sudjelova� polaznici škole s profesorima raznih klasa: violina, violončelo, flauta, glasovir, oboa, fagot, gitara i marimba.Prvi koncert klasične glazbe planiran je za 29. lipnja u dvorcu Vi�uri, a nastupit će polaznici klase violine i fagota.

Velika Zvjerka pokušava naći odgovore na ta pitanja baveći se ljudskom egzistencijom potpuno izvan uobičajenih obrazaca razmišljanja o biznisu.Osim toga, Velika Zvjerka do�če gotovo sva područja čovjekovog života pružajući nam kompleksnu sliku stvarnos� u kojoj su isprepletene brojne silnice koje ga tvore i utječu na čovjekov vrijednosni sustav, a �me i na njegov karakter.Uz obilje iskričavog i originalnog humora koji je postao njezin zaš�tni znak, Velika Zvjerka nudi duboke spoznaje o čovjeku, njegovoj egzistenciji i njegovoj bi�.Predstavu je režirala Slavica Knežević, a glume glumci zagrebačkog kazališta Planet art.

VEČERI DALMATINSKE PISMEVečeri dalma�nske pisme održat će se 22. i 23. srpnja u Kaštel Kambelovcu. Na prvoj ovogodišnjoj fes�valskoj večeri nastupit će sastav Če�ri tenora. Radi se o če�ri izuzetna tenora ‐ Đani S�paničev, Marko Škugor, Marko Peco�ć Peco i Vladimir Garić ‐ koji su u svojoj glazbi spojili bel canto pjevanje s popularnim glazbenim formama. U protekloj godini su održali niz sjajnih koncerata u hrvatskim gradovima od kojih je najzapaženiji bio u koncertnoj dvorani Lisinski. Kaštelanskoj publici je ovo idealna prilika da uživo čuje ovaj izniman sastav. Druga večer je posvećena klapskom pop‐u i natjecateljskog je karaktera.

EVENINGS OF DALMATIAN SONGSThe Evenings of Dalm�an Songs will take place on July 22 and 23 in Kaštel Kambelovac. This year's first fes�val evening will be the concert of Four Tenors. The music of these excep�onal tenors ‐ Đani S�paničev, Marko Škugor, Marko Peco�ć Peco and Vladimir Garić – is a blend of bel canto and popular music forms. Last year they held a number of successful concerts throughout Croa�a of which the most notable one was at the

Lisinski Concert Hall in Zagreb. The audience in Kaštela will have an ideal opportunity to listen to this excep�onal group. The second evening is a compe��on dedicated to a cappella pop music.

Fes�val se u posljednjih nekoliko godina okrenuo prema klapskom popu‐u čime je stekao veliki dio poklonika, pa se i ovu godinu očekuje interes za kartu više.

Among the 21 klapas are eminent ones in this music genre: Šufit, Cambi, Iskon, Kaše, Subrenum, Sebenico, Sve� Florijan… Klapas will perform new composi�ons accompanied by the big fes�val orchestra. In the past few years, the Fes�val has turned towards a cappella pop gaining wider popularity, which is why this year �ckets will likely to be in great demand.

KAŠTELANSKE ROCK VEČERISedme Kaštelanske Rock Večeri održat će se i ovog ljeta u organizaciji udruge Trokut mladih Kaštela. Fes�val organiziraju na plaži u Kaštel Lukšiću. Prva je električna večer (5. kolovoza), a druga večer rezervirana je za laganu glazbu namijenjenu opuštanju. Ulaz svim posje�teljima na obje večeri je besplatan.

KAŠTELA ROCK EVENINGSThis year again the 7th Kaštela Rock Evenings will be organized by the Kaštela Youth Society Trokut. The Fes�val will take place at the beach in Kaštel Lukšić. The first evening is the electric evening (August 5), and the second one is reserved for so� relaxing music. Entry for both evenings is free.

Koncert svjetskih evergreena proizašao je iz dugogodišnje glazbene suradnje Meri Jaman, Anite Valo (Meritas) i Jelene Radan. Njihov zajednički, a opet krajnje individualno obojen senzibilitet i karakter poklopio se upravo na ovom glazbenom konceptu, koji predstavlja koncertni spoj dva različita izvođača, a ujedno i njihov spretno objedinjen in�man pristup glazbi kroz koji ova tri osebujna vokala interpre�raju stavove, misli, melodije i ugođaje nekih od najvećih autora u glazbi uopće. Izbor jesama svjetskih evergreena nadopunjuju i svojim autorskim pjesmama, kojima zaokružuju senzibilitet kojim pristupaju glazbi koju stvaraju i interpre�raju.

Concert of interna�onal evergreens is a result of years‐long music coopera�on of Meri Jaman, Anita Valo (Meritas) and Jelena Radan. Their common, yet utmost individually colored sensi�vity and character coincides in this musical concept that represents a concert combina�on of two different performers, and is at the same �me their skillfully combined in�mate approach to music through which these three specific vocals interpret standpoints, thoughts, melodies and atmosphere of some of the greatest names in music. The selec�on of interna�onal evergreens is complemented by their own songs, rounding up the sensi�vity they approach the music they create and interpret.

LEGENDA O MILJENKU I DOBRILIPriča o Miljenku i Dobrili smještena je u drugu polovicu 17. stoljeća u K. Lukšić gdje su živjele obitelji Vi�uri i Rušinić u svojim roman�čnim dvorcima. Mali Miljenko (Rušinić) i Dobrila (Vi�uri) su bili prijatelji i na kraju se zaljubili. Njihovi roditelji koji su se u međuvremenu posvađali nisu dozvolili njihovo druženje ni� vjenčanje, a nakon njihovog bijega i niza zapleta koje samo ljubav može da�, roditelji su pristali na vjenčanje u K. Lukšiću. Kaštelanski ljubavnici su prihva�li roditeljsku ponudu. Među�m, Dobrilin otac, knez Radoslav se nikako nije mogao pomiri� sa činjenicom da je Miljenko ipak pobijedio i da će odves� njegovu Dobrilu, kao svoju suprugu, u njihov novi dom, dvorac plemićke obitelji Rušinić. Obuzet nesavladivom mržnjom i osvetom, večer nakon vjenčanja dvoje mladih u ljeto 1690. godine, knez Radoslav je na mostu ispred svog dvorca u Kaštel Lukšiću ubio svog zeta iz kubure.Nekoliko mjeseci nakon nemilog događaja, Dobrila je od silne tuge izgubila razum, razboljela se i umrla. Njezina posljednja želja je bila da je pokopaju kraj Miljenka u crkvici Sv. Ivana na Rušincu koja potječe iz 16. st.. U toj se crkvici danas nalazi nadgrobna ploča na kojoj piše. "Pokoj ljubovnikom".

THE LEGEND OF MILJENKO AND DOBRILAThe legend of Miljenko and Dobrila dates to the second half of the 17th century in Kaštel Lukšić where the Vi�uri and Rušinić families lived in their roman�c castles. Young Miljenko (Rušinić) and Dobrila (Vi�uri) were friends who later fell in love. Their parents, who in the mean�me got into a quarrel did not approve of their friendship or wedding, and a�er their escape and a number of plots that only love can create, their parents finally agreed to their marriage in Kaštel Lukšić. The Kaštela lovers accepted their parents' offer. However, Dobrila's father, count Radoslav could not stand the fact that Miljenko won and that he would take his daughter Dobrila as his wife into their new home, the castle of the noble Rušinić family. Seized by uncontrollable hatred and revenge, the night a�er the wedding in the summer of 1690, on the bridge in front of his castle in Kaštel Lukšić, count Radoslav shot his son‐in‐law dead with a flintlock pistol.Several months a�er this tragedy, Dobrila, immensely grieving lost her mind, became ill and died. Her last wish was to be buried by Miljenko in the chapel of St. John at Rušinac (16th c.).

U Kaštel Lukšiću se osim njihova groba nalazi i izvorni Dobrilin dvorac Vi�uri iz XV. – XVI. st., Miljenkov kaštel Rušinić iz XV.st te stara crkva iz 1530.god. u kojoj su vjenčani. Prema ovoj legendi napisani su roman, drama i opera.

This small church s�ll holds a gravestone with an inscrip�on that reads: "Pokoj ljubovnikom" (Peace to the lovers). Besides their tomb, Kaštel Lukšić is also the site of the authen�c Dobrila’s Vi�uri Castle from the 15th ‐16th cc., Miljenko’s Rušinić Castle from the 15th c. and the old church from 1530 where they were married. This legend served as a basis for a novel, drama and opera.

Predstavu će igra� glumci Kaštelanskog kazališta uz pomoć svojih kolega, gostujućih glumaca iz drugih amaterskih društava. Izvedbu će oboga�� svojim nastupm i KUD “Ante Zaninović” te Kliški uskoci. Predstava prikazuje socijalnu situaciju i život u Kaštelima krajem 17.stoljeća te pojašnjava društvene odnose koji su doveli do tragične sudbine mladog para. Predstava po ovom scenariju je praizvedena i jedini put igrana 1954. u organizaciji KUD‐a “Biranj” u Kaštel Lukšiću

U zabavno‐eduka�vnom programu natječu se tri grupe djece u dvije kategorije: poznavanje starih igara te kviz “Koliko dobro poznajem Miljenka i Dobrilu?”.

Nakon kviza i igara djeca se i pripremaju za umjetničku interpretacija vezanu za legendu. Svaka grupa ima zadatak prikaza� dio vezan za legendu kroz ak�vnos� kojima se bave (pjesma, gluma, ples).

The play will be performed by actors of the Kaštela Theater along with their colleagues, visi�ng actors from other amateur socie�es. The Cultural and Ar�s�c Society Ante Zaninović and the Uskoks from Klis will add to the overall performance. The play shows the social condi�ons and life in Kaštela at the end of the 17th century and clarifies social rela�ons that led to the tragic fate of the young couple. The play, based on this script was performed for the first and only �me in 1954 by the Cultural and Ar�s�c Society Biranj in Kaštel Lukšić

In the entertainment and educa�onal program three groups of children will compete in two categories: Old games and quiz "How well do I know Miljenko and Dobrila?". The concert of the Choir Con fuoco from Pszczyna, friendship city Kaštela, will mark the 20th anniversary of friendship between these two towns. Young opera singers of the Ante Ivić Opera Studio will add to the quality of program by performing arias from Milovoj Koludrović’s opera "Miljenko and Dobrila".The concert will take place in the baroque parish church in Kaštel Lukšić, courtesy of Vicar S�pan Šurlin, suppor�ng thus the project about Miljenko and Dobrila.

Role of women in society in the past un�l the present will be considered through Dobrila’s des�ny which is a view point for looking

at a woman as a mother, food provider, backbone of the family, o�en disempowered and deprived of deciding about her own des�ny. The most beau�ful songs about a woman will be performed in honor of Dobrila.

10. kolovoza ‐ Fes�val ljubavnih napitaka U okviru manifestacije „Legenda o Miljenku i Dobrili“ TZ Grada Kaštela ove godine po prvi puta organizira i „Fes�val ljubavnih napitaka“. Riječ je o ugos�teljsko ‐ gastronomskoj manifestaciji čiji cilj je promovira� različite vrste autohtonih likera, rakija i žes�ca. Ljubavna priča o Miljenku i Dobrili na taj način dobiva i svoju gospodarsku dimenziju pružajući priliku malim prizvođačima i OPG‐ovima da prezen�raju svoje proizvode, kako Kaštelanima tako i njihovim gos�ma.Svi zainteresirani izlagači imaju osiguran prodajni prostor na kojem će predstavi� jedan “ljubani napitak” s originalnim imenom i djelovanjem osmišljenim za ovu prigodu.

Tijekom večeri izabrani napitak posje�telji će moći degus�ra� uz plaćanje, a također će bi� omogućeno svim prijavljenima prodava� i ostale svoje proizvode po promo�vnim cijenama.

Tijekom večeri organiziran je zabavni program uz “meštra ceremonije” Damira Mihanovića ‐ Čubija, a osim glazbenog programa za odrasle, pripremaju se i programi za djecu: akrobatsko‐žonglerske točke grofa Mo�ke i njegove dvorske lude, akrobacije s vatrom te pripovjedanje bajki za velike i male.

August 10, 2017 ‐ Fes�val of love drinks Within the event "Legend about Miljenko and Dobrila", the Kaštela Tourist Board, for the first �me organizes the Fes�val of love drinks. It is a catering‐gastronomic event whose aim is to promote different types of original liqueurs, brandies and spirits. The love story about Miljenko and Dobrila thus assumes an economic aspect offering an opportunity to small‐scale producers and family run farms to present their products, both to locals and their guests. All interested exhibitors will be provided a sales point for presen�ng one "love drink" with an original name and benefits designed for this occasion.

During the evening visitors will be able to taste the chosen drink against a fee, and all exhibitors are en�tled to sell other products at promo�onal prices. Throughout the evening, the entertainment program will be led by Damir Mihanović ‐ Čubi, “Master of ceremony”, and besides the music program for adults, there will be programs for children, too: acroba�c‐juggling show of count Mo�ka and his court jester, acrobat show with fire and storytelling by the fire for children and adults.

SPLIT GUITAR QUARTETThe Split Guitar Quartet was founded in 2010 with the aim of enriching the Croa�an and Split guitar

scene. Members of the Quartet are awarded Split guitar players, former students of Music School and the Arts Academy: Kajo Milišić, Josip Dragnić, Goran Ce�nić Koća and Mar�n Andrijašević.

SPLITSKI GITARISTIČKI KVARTETSplitski gitaris�čki kvartet je osnovan 2010. godine sa težnjom obogaćivanja hrvatske i splitske gitaris�čke scene. Kvartet čine nagrađivani splitski gitaris�, bivši učenici i studen� splitskih glazbenih škola i Umjetničke akademije: Kajo Milišić, Josip Dragnić, Goran Ce�nić Koća i Mar�n Andrijašević.

CLOSING CEREMONY OF THE KAŠTELA CUTURAL SUMMER

The flag of the Kaštela Cultural Summer 2017 will be lowered on September 1, 2017 at Brce in Kaštel Stari with a big concert of klapas Cambi and Šufit. The organizer of this year’s closing ceremony too, will be the Kaštela Cultural Carnival Society Donja Kaštela under the auspices of the Town of Kaštela.

SVEČANOST ZATVARANJA KAŠTELANSKOG KULTURNOG LJETA

Zastava Kaštelanskog kulturnog ljeta 2017. svečano će se spus�� 1. rujna 2017. godine na Brcu u Kaštel Starom velikim klapskim koncertom klapa Cambi i Šufit. Organizator svečanog zatvaranja i ove će godine bi� KKU Poklade Donja Kaštela uz pokroviteljstvo Grada Kaštela.

During its years‐long ac�vity, the Quartet held many concerts throughout Croa�a, and the music skills of this chamber group were put to the test also by interna�onal audience in April 2015 when the Quartet, represen�ng Croa�a, took part in the Interna�onal Guitar Fes�val in Augsburg (Germany), and within the concert cycle Musique des Na�ons in Luxemburg. The extremely successful concert in Luxemburg was followed by an invita�on to perform within this pres�gious cycle of classical music concerts "Les concerts du Foyer Européen" in Luxemburg, where the Quartet held a concert in January 2017.

Kvartet je za vrijeme kon�nuiranog višegodišnjeg djelovanja održao brojne koncerte diljem Hrvatske, a o umijeću muziciranja ovog komornog sastava imala se priliku uvjeri� i inozemna publika u travnju 2015. godine kada je Kvartet, predstavljajući Hrvatsku, nastupio na Međunarodnom gitaris�čkom fes�valu u Augsburgu (Njemačka) i u sklopu ciklusa koncerata Musique des Na�ons u Luksemburgu. Nakon iznimno uspješnog koncerta u Luksemburgu usljedio je poziv za nastup u oviru pres�žnog ciklusa koncerata klasične glazbe „Les concerts du Foyer Europeen“ u Luksemburgu, gdje je Kvartet održao koncert u siječnju 2017. godine.

The Fes�val of šalša and salsa is a unique event in Kaštela organized for the 7th �me by the Kaštela Tourist Board and the Society Šušur at Igrišće in Kaštel Štafilić. It's an opportunity for everyone to try to cook the šalša and dance the salsa.

ENTERTAINMENT PROGRAM:ENO‐GASTRO KAŠTELAUdruženje obrtnika Kaštela ove će godine, 8. srpnja s početkom u 20 sa�, na Brcu u Kaštel Starom organizira� večer gastronomije, pod nazivom Eno‐gastro Kaštela. RIBARSKE FEŠTEKAŠTEL STARI ‐ PŠK Srdela organizira Ribarsku feštu na Brcu i Portu , 29. srpnja 2017. godine u 20 sa�.KAŠTEL SUĆURAC ‐ Ljetnu feštu organizirat će KPU Kampanel 12. kolovoza od 20 sa� na mulu.KAŠTEL ŠTAFILIĆ – Ribarsku feštu organizira Bratovš�na Gospe Karmelske i Mjesni odbor, 15.07. na Igrišću.KAŠTEL LUKŠIĆ – Športsko pomorsko društvo Galeb organizirat će dvije ribarske fešte (6.07. i 11.08.) na Brcu pored dvorca Vi�uri, a Lovačka udruga svoju će feštu organizira� 25.08.

FESTIVAL ŠALŠE I SALSE Početak rujna (2.09.) najbolje je vrijeme za uživanje u okusima zrelih rajčica ali i zanosnim južnoameričkim ritmovima salse. Fes�val šalše i salse jedinstvena je manifestacija u Kaštelima koju po sedmi put organiziraju Turis�čka zajednica Kaštela i Udruga Šušur na Igrišću u Kaštel Štafiliću. Prigoda je to da se svi zainteresirani okušaju u spremanju šalše i plesu salse.

Museum

The seat of the Municipal Museum of Kaštela is located in one of the best‐preserved fortresses in Kaštela – Vi�uri Castle. Kaštela are the second city by popula�on in Split‐Dalma�a County, comprised of seven villages spreading along the coast of the Kaštela Bay. Each village originated during the period of the O�oman threat, when the nobility and the Church from the surrounding ci�es of Split and Trogir built their castles to protect the popula�on against the O�oman a�acks. Apart from the Modern era historical cores, there is a whole range of archaeological sites dated to prehistoric �mes, Classical An�quity and Middle Ages within the area of Kaštela.

The Municipal Museum of Kaštela was founded in 1999, through restructuring of the Regional Museum of Kaštela, which had originated from the Studin Gallery (founded in 1988). The richness of the cultural heritage of the Kaštela area is reflected in the work of the museum, which contributes to preserva�on of cultural heritage of this area by gathering and represen�ng the material. There are Archaeological, Cultural‐historical, Modern and Contemporary Art, Pedagogical, Documenta�on, as well as Restora�on and Conserva�on departments opera�ng within the Museum. The permanent exhibi�on of the museum is located in the Vi�uri Castle in Kaštel Lukšić, and in 2012, a permanent exhibi�on was opened at the Archbishop’s castle in Kaštel Sućurac. The museum takes care of two archaeological sites: the remains of an ancient se�lement of Siculi at Resnik and Mujina cave in Labinska draga.

Sjedište Muzeja grada Kaštela nalazi se u jednoj od najbolje očuvanih kaštelanskih utvrda‐kaštelu Vi�uri. Kaštela su drugi grad po broju stanovnika u Splitsko‐dalma�nskoj županiji, sa sedam naselja razmještenih duž obale Kaštelanskog zaljeva. Svako naselje nastalo je �jekom razdoblja turske opasnos�, kada su plemstvo i Crkva iz okolnih gradova Splita i Trogira, podiglisvoje kaštele u svrhu zaš�te stanovništva od turskih napada. Osim novovjekih povijesnih jezgri, na kaštelanskom prostoru postoji niz arheoloških lokaliteta iz prapovijesnog, an�čkog i srednjovjekovnog razdoblja.

Muzej grada Kaštela osnovan je 1999. god., a nastao je preustrojem Zavičajnog muzeja Kaštela, koji je izrastao iz rada galerije Studin (osnovane 1988. godine). Bogatstvo kulturne baš�ne kaštelanskog prostora ogleda se i u radu muzeja, koji prikupljajući i prezen�rajući građu doprinosi očuvanju kulturne baš�ne ovog prostora.

Vi�uri Castle in Kaštel Lukšić

The castle itself with its surrounding historical core is well preserved, and in the period between the year of 1993 and 2001, its appearance from the beginning of the 18th century has been restored. The castle was in its most representa�ve stage in that period. During the research works, defensive moat and a stone bridge in front of the northern entrance were rediscovered. The Castle was built by the noble family Vi�uri, at the end of the 15th and the

beginning of the 16th century. Due to frequent O�oman a�acks, it was necessary to protect the local popula�on, which had been living in the medieval village of Ostrog at the slopes of the Kozjak Mountain before the construc�on of the Castle. Along with the castle, a small, for�fi ed se�lement was also formed, and its folk stone architecture and space organiza�on has been preserved �ll this day.

Unutar muzeja djeluje arheološki, kulturno‐povijesni, odjel moderne i suvremene umjetnos�, pedagoški, dokumentacijski i restauratorski odjel. Stalni postav muzeja smješten je u dvorcu (kaštelu) Vi�uri u Kaštel Lukšiću., a od 2012. god. otvoren je i postav u nadbiskupskom kaštelu u Kaštel Sućurcu. Muzej brine i o dva arheološka nalazišta: ostacima an�čkog naselja Sikuli u Resniku i o Mujinoj pećini u Labinskoj dragi.

Kaštel Vi�uri u Kaštel Lukšiću

Sam kaštel sa okolnom povijesnom jezgrom dobro je očuvan, a obnovom u razdoblju od 1993. do 2001. god., vraćen mu je izgled s početka 18. Stoljeća.Tada je bio u svojoj najreprezenta�vnijoj fazi i danas predstavlja kulturni centar Grada Kaštela. Tijekom istražnih radova ponovno je otkriven obrambeni jarak ikameni most ispred sjevernog ulaza.Kaštel je izgradila plemićka obitelj Vi�uri, krajem 15. i �jekom prve polovice 16. st. Uslijed čes�h turskih napada bilo je nužno zaš��� domaće stanovništvo, koje je do izgradnje kaštela živjelo u srednjovjekovnom selu Ostrog napadinama Kozjaka.Uz kaštel je formirano manje utvrđeno naselje sa do danas sačuvanom pučkom kamenom arhitekturom i organizacijom prostora.

Stalni muzejski postav

Stalni postav muzeja nalazi se na drugom katu kaštela Vi�uri, a otvoren je 2008. godine. Postav se sastoji iz dva dijela; kulturno‐povijesnog (južno krilo) i arheološkog (istočno krilo) sa 679 izložaka. Između ova dva dijela stalnog postava

Permanent museum display

The permanent museum display is located at the second floor of the Castle Vi�uri, and it was opened in 2008. The display is comprised of two parts: cultural‐historical (southern wing) and archaeological (eastern wing), with a total amount of 679 exhibits. Between those two parts, there is a gallery with a lapidarium. Since 2013, the sculptures of Marin Studin, a famous sculptor from Kaštela, have also been exhibited in the northern wing. Development of the individual castles and urbanism of the Kaštela villages, as well as the representa�on of defence against the O�omans through the weapon collec�on, are shown in the cultural‐historical part. The life of the noble families of Kaštela, as well as folk costumes, is represented in a separate part.

Within the archaeological part of the permanent exhibi�on, there are valuable archaeological finds dated to Prehistory, Classical An�quity and the Middle Ages. Lithic artefacts of the Mousterian culture discovered in Mujina cave (45000‐39000 BC) are of a special interest, as well as the numerous finds from the ancient se�lement of Siculi and the sepulchral contribu�ons from the Early Croa�an necropolae.

The Archiepiscopal Palace in Kaštel Sućurac

The historical core of Kaštel Sućurac was formed at the end of the 15th century around the tower constructed by Andrija Benzi, the Archbishop of Split, in 1392 in the area called Lučac. In 1489, next to the tower whose founda�ons are s�ll visible

nalazi se galerija u kojoj je lapidarij.

Od 2013. god. u sjevernom krilu izložene su i skulpture poznatog kaštelanskog kipara Marina Studina. U kulturno‐povijesnom dijelu prezen�ran je razvoj pojedinih kaštela i urbanizam kaštelanskih naselja, kao i prikaz obrane od Turaka sa zbirkom oružja. U odvojenom dijelu prikazan je život plemenitaških kaštelanskih obitelji i kaštelanska narodna nošnja.

U arheološkom dijelu stalnog postava prezen�rani su vrijedni arheološki nalazi iz razdoblja. Posebno su zanimljivi li�čki Mujinoj pećini (45000‐39000 god. pr. Kr.), brojni nalazi iz an�čkog naseljaSikuli i grobni prilozi iz starohrvatskih nekropola.

Nadbiskupski kaštel u Kaštel Sućurcu

Povijesna jezgra Kaštel Sućurca formira se krajem 15. st. oko kule koju je 1392. podigao splitski nadbiskup Andrija Benzi na predjelu zvanom Lučac. Uz kulu, čiji su temelji i danas vidljivi, izgradio je splitski nadbiskup Bartolomeo Averoldo 1489. god. obrambeni sklop Kaš�lac u kojem je nadbiskupska palača bila centralni dio. Čitav Kaš�lac

today, the Archbishop of Split Bartolomeo Averoldo constructed a defensive complex Kaš�lac in which the Archiepiscopal Palace was the central part. En�re Kaš�lac was well for�fi ed with a wall, and its ba�lements have been par�ally preserved. On the second fl oor of the Archiepiscopal Palace, there are museum premises with rich cultural‐historical and archaeological collec�ons. Since 2012, the archaeological department of the Museum has been located here.

Towards the permanent display

The exhibi�on en�tled “Towards thepermanent display” has been organized on the second fl oor of the Archiepiscopal Palace. It is comprised of two parts: cultural‐historical and archaeological, with 128 exhibits. The exhibited material depicts the wealth of the movable cultural heritage of Kaštel Sućurac. The largest part of the material originates from the collec�on of the associa�on Podvorje, which was in charge of its maintenance up un�l 2012. Part of the exhibited archaeological material has been discovered during the excava�ons of the employees of the archaeological department of the Municipal Museum of Kaštela (Kr�ne, Brižine and Trstenik) and of the Museum of Croa�an Archaeological Monuments (Putalj). Among the exhibits, the fi nds from the Bronze Age hillfort at Putalj and early‐Romanesque arch of the altar par��on (a so called Arch from Sućurac) are especially no�ceable.

Veći dio materijala potječe iz zbirke koju je prikupila udruga Podvorje, koja se do 2012. god. brinula o njoj.Dio izloženog arheološkog materijala pronađen je istraživanjima djelatnika arheološkog odjela Muzeja grada Kaštela (Kr�ne, Brižine i Trstenik) i Muzeja hrvatskih arheoloških spomenika (Putalj). Treasury of the parish church in Kaštel Štafilić

Movable parts of the ecclesias�cal heritage of the Parish Church of the Immaculate Concep�on of the Blessed Virgin Mary are exhibited in the Treasury. Vo�ve gi�s (so called Our Lady’s gold), filigree handmade jewellery, as well as modest but valuable liturgical objects made of silver, books and pain�ngs are exhibited next to the pain�ng of Our Lady. In most part, these are the imported works of the Vene�an provenance and of Austrian jewellers, as well as of local ar�sans from Split, Trogir and Kaštela. These items were acquired and donated by confraterni�es and individualsOpen 1.7. – 31.8. / 20‐22.

Mujina cave

Mujina cave holds traces of presence of the Neanderthal men in this area. It is located within the karst environment around Labinska draga, which historically served as an important communica�on route with the hinterlands. For that reason, several archeological sites from different periods can be found here. In the approximate vicinity of the cave, there are also the remains of the Roman road wich connected Siculi with the hinterlands.The cave is of small dimensions with a big entrance facing the south‐east. Small plateau in front of the entrance enables good control of the surrounding area, which was important to praehistoric men because it helped them no�ce the animal heards that used to inhabit this area. Systema�c archaeological research within the cave has encovered rich layers of Mousterian culture dated to the period from 45000 to

Mujina pećina

Tragovi prisutnos� neandertalca na ovom prostoru sačuvani su u Mujinoj pećini. Smještena je u sačuvanom prirodnom krškom okolišu Labinske drage, koja je kroz prošlost bila važna komunikacija prema zaleđu. Sa manjeg platoa ispred pećine moguća je dobra kontrola okolnog prostora, što je pračovjeku bilo važno zbog mogućnos� ranog zapažanja krda živo�nja koje su tada nastanjivale ovaj

39000 BC. Within the 2 metres deep layers, various lithic artefacts and animal bones have were discovered. They tes�fy about the ac�vi�es performed by the neanderthals within the cave, and numerous animal bons tell us about their diet. While the cave was being used, the climate was significantly colder and sea level about 90 metres lower.

Classical An�quity se�lement of Siculi

The remains of the Classical An�quity se�lement of Siculi are located in Resnik, next to Kaštel Štafilić, at the mouth of the eponymous creek. It has been men�oned in numerous historical sources, and the Roman Emperor Claudius se�led his military veterans here in the mid‐1st century BC. During many years of archaeological research, it has been established that this se�lement spread over the area of 36.000 m2 and that it was founded in the 2nd century BC. At this �me, the surroundings of the Kaštela Bay were the stage for very dynamic events related to Greeks from Issa, Romans and Delmatae. Apart from the remains of the evenly organized residen�al blocks and streets, a smaller part of the for�fica�on walls and underwater docks that are today submerged into the sea have also been preserved. It is assumed that the layout was rectangular, with a surface of 3.6 ha. Residen�al blocks were extremely long, around 13 metres wide. The se�lement was destroyed during the second half of the 1st century BC, as evidenced by the remains of the collapsed roof structures and soot found in most of the researched houses. Apart from the ancient docks, the remains of a Palaeolithic site and Neolithic se�lement are also located underwater, in front of the mouth of the creek.

U vrijeme korištenja pećine klima je bila znatno hladnija, a razina mora oko 90 metara niža.

An�čki Sikuli

Ostaci an�čkog naselja Sikuli nalaze se u Resniku pored Kaštel Štafilića, uz ušće istoimenog potoka. Ono se spominje u brojnim povijesnim izvorima, a rimski car Klaudije ovdje je naselio vojne veterane polovicom 1. st. pr. Kr. Dugogodišnjim arheološkim istraživanjima utvrđeno je da se naselje pros�re na površini od oko 36 000 m2 i da je osnovano u 2. st. pr. Kr. Osim ostataka pravilno organiziranih stambenih blokova i ulica, sačuvani je manji dio bedema i danas potopljena podmorska pristaništa. Osim an�čkih pristaništa, u podmorju ispred ušća potoka nalaze se ostaci paleoli�čkog nalazišta i neoli�čkog naselja.

Biranj

Biranj is a stra�fi ed archeological site located at a prominent peak of Mount Kozjak (631 m) above Kaštela. A praehistoric hillfort, late Classical An�quity Castrum, the sanctuary of the supreme Slavic god Perun and the Romanesque church of Sv. John are located here. The outer bas�on of this prehistoric hillfort is almost 800 meters long and encloses the area of nearly 73.000 m2, which makes it one of the largest hillforts on the eastern Adria�c coast and in the hinterland. The bas�on is made of dry wall and is at some parts up to 12 metres wide. Archaeological research has revealed cultular layers dated to Neolithic and Bronze Age, with a well developed lithic industry.

Biranj

Biranj je slojevito arheološko nalazište na istaknutom kozjačkom vrhuncu (631 m) iznad Kaštela. Ovdje se nalazi prapovijesno gradinsko utvrđenje, kasnoan�čki kastrum, sve�šte vrhunskog slavenskog božanstva Peruna i romanička crkva Sv. Ivana. Vanjski bedem prapovijesne gradine dugačak je gotovo 800 metara i lučno zatvara površinu od gotovo 73 000 m2, što lokalitet svrstava u red površinom najvećih gradinskih utvrđenja na istočnoj jadranskoj obali i zaleđu. Bedemi su suhozidni, a osipina je na pojedinim mjes�ma i do 12 metara široka. Arheološka istraživanja otkrila su kulturne slojeve iz neoli�ka i brončanog doba, sa razvijenom li�čkom industrijom.
