I hope that all of you at the giving and

receiving ends of education might have

taken up the idea of ‘Triple Agenda for

Educational Growth’ that was floated last

year by us; first being research and

academic growth, second being holistic

and symbiotic association between

industry and academia and the third

Starting a new tradition, United hosted a sports meet this year inviting over 14 different colleges from around allahabad. The sports meet was conducted in 2 days with athletic events like track running, shot put discuss, javelin and tug of war and sporting events like football, basketball and volleyball.

The response was overwelhming with over 700 particitants in total from all colleges. This marked the first of many sports and athletics meet to come in the future.

We have hosted MTV Roadies Delhi Auditions second time in our luxurious auditorium with a seating capacity of 1000 which is best auditorium in Delhi-NCR. Pre event promotion for the Volkswagen Vento Cup on 25th November at Greater Noida Campus and students got chance to attend Vento Cup at Buddh International Circuit Greater Noida.

GATEWAY TO ‘GATE’ is United’s revolutionary trend

of mentoring for GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in

Engineering) preparation, which is one of the

biggest and the most prestigious exam for

engineering graduates organized by the Indian

Institute of Science, Bangalore along with all the

IIT’s on behalf of Government of India, NCB

(National Coordination Board – GATE), Department

of Higher Education and MHRD (Ministry of

Human Resources Development). Spread across

6th to 8th Semesters, this spiral model of GATEWAY

TO ‘GATE’ is an ideal preparatory forum initiated by

UGI faculty for UGI students, who aim to qualify

GATE and go for higher studies or PSUs.

Special Features of GATEWAY TO GATE:• Making the students aware about the

GATE syllabus and exam pattern.• Through uniform distribution of

subjects/topics across the semesters, reducing the burden at the time of examination.

Innovation Centers at UGI are newly established units aiming towards

nurturing the innovative ideas of scientifically and technologically-driven

young minds and encourages UGI scholars for research project/proposal

submissions. The prime objective of these Innovation Centers is to explore

and enhance the creativity and innovation skills of UGI scholars and to pursue

research that not only advances science and technology but also has a

societal impact.

Students with innovative ideas can approach the innovation centre for

guidance and financial support. The Center is equipped with state of the art

facilities for research and development. Other facilities required for projects

like Internet, Printers, Software, Circuit Components, Fabrication support etc

are also provided at the center. Application forms may be obtained from the

innovation centre. Interested students may submit their applications along

with the detailed proposal in the prescribed format and may get the funding

from the institute after the project is approved as per the norms and criteria

of the Innovation Center. At its seedling stage, the center has received

enormous quality projects beyond its expectation.

Verbal Ability Program (VAP)‘Verbal Ability Program’ (VAP) is another unique feature of UGI which gets motivation from the alarmingly need of improvement in English Proficiency/Communication and Aptitude along with the other Soft Skills, which often limit students’ chances of landing a job. The passionate team of experienced faculty members at United makes the students work upon their Intelligence Quotient (IQ)covering Numerical, Analytical and Reasoning skills along with English Proficiency and also their Emotional Quotient (EQ) covering their Attitude, Communication, Interpersonal and decision-making skills etc.

CAMPUS RECRUITMENTTRAINING (CRT)Campus Recruitment Training (CRT), a significant training lead by outsourced professional trainers is the obvious solution to unlock students’ verbal, numerical, analytical and logical skills. Signing up of MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Bangkok, Thailand, being the first initiative in this endeavor has opened the doors for Global exposure and Global future of Unitians. More than 500 students have already participated in ‘Summer Education Workshop’ at AIT & Missouri and entering into its 6th plan is ready to send good number of identified, talented and technology-driven future leaders from across the UGI in the year 2016. AIT collaboration provides an exchange platform for the students, faculty members with joint research projects, joint cultural programs/projects and joint conferences.

As a next step in this direction, MoU with the Missouri University, Columbia, USA, provides with a framework for a partnership agreement ensuring close cooperation and coordination of efforts concerning training, exchange of experts and scholars, participation in joint conferences etc.
