SAMPLECOA 2: Maintain exercise as planned. Have COM call VCJCS to explain necessity.
Pro/Con:(+) Maintains valuable SOF training(-) COMs schedule is loaded
(U) Resolution Board Template
• Source: Vice Chairman Joint Chiefs Staff (VCJCS)
• Request: MV-22 support for 2 November
• Impact on Exercise: Two MV-22 airframes are required to support this request; one to support lift requirements and one as the ready backup. MV-22 airframes are currently staged in (Pyrope) Florida and are supporting SOF operations on the 1 st – 3rd November. Airframes supporting the VCJCS on 2 Nov will be unavailable for supporting SOF operations on the 1 st – 3rd November.
• Recommendation: COA 3
• Time Criticality: Decision by today at 1600 to ensure MV-22 movements are made in time.
COA 1: Provide MV-22 Support to VCJCS. Cancel 3 planned SOF Events on 1st – 3rd November.
Pro/Con:(+) Meets request of VCJCS(-) Cancelled SOF events will require scripted MSEL injects to simulate the action taken by SOF forces
COA 3: Provide one MV-22 Support to VCJCS. Establish helo lift as backup aircraft. Cancel 1 planned SOF Event on 2 Nov to accommodate.
Pro/Con:(+) Meets request of VCJCS(-) Minimizes affect on exercise(-) Some risk assumed as there is not a MV-22 identified for backup.
