UNEMPLOYMENT

Spain is the European

country with the highest rate of unemployment,

just behind Greece.

22% unemployment

The unemployment among young people is even

higher.

25 years old or younger: 51,8%

The main cause:

- It is an economy based on tourism and building sectors.

- The industry sector is not highly developed.

There is a historical problem of structural unemployment in Spain.

PROBLEMS:

It is an old-fashioned system of education.

It is based on the adquisition of knowledge.

It is not focused on preparing students for work life.

It is becoming more expensive

every year.

The investment in education has been cut

down, so there are fewer grants.

As a consequence, it is causing a

gap among social clases.

The education policies of the

present government have

been a disappoinment

for all the school community:

students, parents and teachers.

The Minister of Education,

responsable of the policies, is the most unpopular

person in the government.

Invest in new economic sectors to

create employment.

Change in society (new ideas for a

new society)

No tolerance with

corruption

Education as a way of creating

employment.

More investment in Public Education

New education policies leading to avoid early school leaving.

New methologies in the teaching-learning proccess.

New education system oriented to work life.
