Renowned Australian band The Cat Empire return with ‘Rising With The Sun’, an album that showcase their unique blend

ska, jazz and rock. It was recorded over the course of 2015, in between touring commitments which saw The Cat Empire p

to a global audience of over half a million people, including headlining some of the world’s biggest festivals, and a sold out

show at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall.

'Rising With The Sun' was recorded in the band’s hometown of Melbourne, with sought after producer and long‐time frien

Jan Skubiszewski. With two songs already released including “Que Sera Ahora”, which the band have been performing as

part of their set throughout Europe, and “Wolves”, fans have already had a glimpse of The Cat Empire’s new material. The

songs on ‘Rising With The Sun’ feel explosive and custom built for festivals.

The ‘Rising With The Sun’ artwork is inspired by a traditional Mexican design known as an “Ojos de Dios” (Eye of God), thes

designs were traditionally created for a celebration, and often presented as a gift to bless a home. The cover art was create

by local Sydney and ARIA Award winning artist Aaron Hayward. Inside, the booklet art will feature the faces of over 3500

lucky fans of The Cat Empire from around the world who were quick to respond to the bands call to fans to share their face

for the artwork.

Calgary singer songwriter Michael Bernard Fitzgerald (MBF) has been a fixture on the music scene since he released his debut LP “Love” in 2009. And

he’s been on the road ever since, touring throughout North America (US and Canada) with the likes of Joel Plaskett, Stars, The Wallflowers, Elliott

Brood, Steve Winwood, Third Eye Blind, Toad The West Sprocket, Bobby Long, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Lights and many more. Michael has

officially showcased at NXNE, SXSW, ATAA, CMW COCA, WCMA(nominated), and Sunset Sessions Radio Expo in the US (both Las Vegas and Carlsbad,

California). His second full‐length, “Yes” was released in 2013 and the two independent records have racked up close to 9000 copies sold.

MBF’s accolades include Calgary’s Avenue Magazine naming him in their “40 Under 40” for 2013. Also, in 2013, Michael was nominated by Sirius XM

Canada in the “Best New Artist” category. Michael’s live studio performance at the Sirius studios in Toronto, recorded in August of 2013, is still being

Yoga is a physical, mental, and spiritual practice or discipline, which originated in India. While the practice of Yoga can be dated as far back as the fift

century, its exact birthdate remains unknown. The popularity of yoga has continued to grow and the late 19th and 20

th century yoga gurus introduced

Yoga to the West. Soon a variety of styles evolved.

Hatha yoga consists of eight limbs focused on attaining samādhi. In this scheme, the six limbs of hatha yoga are defined as asana, pranayama,

Ernest Tubb was one of the pioneers of country music. Tubb joined the Grand Ole Opry in February 1943 and put togethe

his band, the Texas Troubadours. Robert "Bob" Wills was considered the co‐founder of Western swing. He formed the

Texas Playboys in 1934. Wills favored jazz‐like arrangements and the band found national popularity into the 1940s with

such hits as "Steel Guitar Rag" and "New San Antonio Rose.”

It was Baker, Bruce and Clapton who demonstrated thatharmonically and structurally what was dismissed as rock'n'rollcould be every bit as complex as any contemporary, so-calledclassical, music. I believe that what still gives the film its power ispartly a result of the circumstances in which it was made. It'seasy to forget how primitive recording equipment was in 1968. It

had only been a year since I had seen the very first colour videorecorder at the BBC, and editing videotape was at besthazardous. So what you see in the film, apart from theinterviews, was all 'live'. There is not a single edit anywhere. Ofcourse it's rough; raw would be a better word. It's often clumsyand just plain wrong. But I think it still has the extraordinaryenergy of the occasion. Although you would expect me to saythis, I don't think I've seen another recording of a concert inwhich the atmosphere is so exactly as it was on the night. Twofootnotes. Clapton later told me that the main reason the groupsplit up was because "the music was not honest." I've alwaysthought it was through sheer exhaustion. In their brief two-and-a-half year existence, Cream played over 300 gigs, traveling nightafter night in Europe and the States.

During the filming of Beware Mr Baker, Ginger admitted that hehad quite frequently wanted to throttle Jack. "But hey," he toldme, "I loved the bastard." Jack was held in awe, especially byGinger and Eric. More importantly, he was also held in enormousaffection by those who knew him, including me. The film wasoriginally commissioned by the BBC for its 'Omnibus' arts slot.Cream were then thought worthy of consideration alongsideDebussy and Picasso. TONY PALMER

In November 1971, Ginger Baker wanted to set up a recordinstudio in Lagos, then the capital of Nigeria. He was among thfirst great musicians to realise the potential of African music. Hdecided also that it might be an invaluable musical experienche travelled to Nigeria overland. Unfortunately, this involvedcrossing the Sahara Desert. Mad? Well, crazy - but that was

what was so endearing both about the man and the musicianbought a Range Rover - one of the first ever models - and it fto me (because of my relationship with CREAM) to film thisodyssey. And the music of Nigeria, when we finally gotthere, a revelation. This was before the time of the oil boom and asuccession of corrupt governments; the music pulsated withreckless freedom, from the African talking-drummers ofOshogbo, to a visit to the eastern city of Calabar where Gingefriend (the then unknown) Fela Ransome-Kuti performed for uwith devastating power. I remember filming Kuti in a stadiumfilled with several hundred jiving Africans. Ginger & I, his driveand my cameraman were the only white faces. Scary. But notscary as our nights in a Calabar hotel (well, 'hotel' is a bit of aexaggeration). The walls of our room, not to mention the seedmattress on the floor, were covered black with mosquitoes. I

remember Ginger saying that if we survived this, we couldsurvive anything. I'm glad he did, and the film pays tribute to hindomitable spirit and to his extraordinary musicianship.

The title trackon A Time For Love is a superb song that brings out the bestplaying in everyone. I love David Hazeltine's melodic musicalstatement on the tune. Inhis lifetime he produced recordings for Art Farmer, Roy Haynes,Clark Terry, Count Basie, Hank Jones, Tony Williams, AbbeyLincoln, Terumasa Hino, and many more. Yasohachi's love for

jazz and ear for excellent talent moved him to record andproduce Erena first three records. He surrounded her with someof the world's best jazz musicians - including Kenny Barron,Christian McBride, Jimmy Cobb, and Ron Carter - and
