page 1 of 2 UCLA Brain Research Institute (BRI) presents S YNOPSIS NeuroCamp is a FREE BRI outreach program that brings together a group of 15-20 highly motivated high school students in a centralized lab setting. Students learn the fundamentals of neuroscience and basic lab techniques in Molecular Neurobiology, Neurophysiology, and Neuroanatomy. NeuroCamp 2018 will be held at UCLA over a two-week period (on the Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each week): Week 1 July 10, 11, 12 1:30pm-4:30pm Week 2 July 17, 18, 19 1:30pm-4:30pm The overall goal of the program is to provide an exciting and rewarding introduction to research in neuroscience to a broad range of high school students from the Los Angeles area. NeuroCamp intends to stimulate an interest in college as well as an educational path leading to a career in science. A P P L I C A T I O N R E Q U I R E M E N T S Please include the following:

(1) Statement of Interest: Please describe your interest in the field of Neuroscience. [1 paragraph]

(2) Declaration of Commitment: Please describe your intended commitment to the program. Be sure to include any foreseeable obstacles to fulfilling said time commitment during the two-week period. Note that you’ll need to arrange your own transportation to UCLA.

(3) Resume: Please include a standard resume.

(4) Letter of Recommendation: Please provide a letter of recommendation from a teacher or mentor.
