Christ resurrection signifies the triumph of life over death, of light over darkness, and real over unreal. This give us hope that hardship will eventually give way to a better life. EASTER SEASON IS THE CORNERSTONE OF OUR FAITH: Easter is, our triumph because of Jesus Christ. It is the promise of life after an earthly journey. As we imagine the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, let us also recall the life He lived and the person He was. He had a deep love for the ill, the poor, and the downtrodden. He had the unwavering compassion for people whom society had shunned- people who, because of their past, culture, economic status or affliction, had been cast away. He was a man of peace and a man who served others in peace. We can benefit from His example in confronting the world’s social, political and economic problems. There will always be more room for compassion, understanding, open-mindedness, and empathy for others in dealing with the Church and the world’s affairs-from Holy Friendship and peace negotiations to policy development and implementation. EASTER SEASON AND ITS REFLECTION: Easter, is a time for reflection and joy. May we be able to reflect on the actions that we have done in the past and on our relationship with fellow believers, friends, families, loved ones, and most of all with God and His Church. For the season signifies a new beginning for all of us. This is the opportunity to start life anew with a renewed hope and continued yearning for peace among the people of the world. Let us rejoice and be glad because the resurrection of Jesus is the crowning truth of our faith in Christ, a faith believed and lived as the central truth by the first Christian Community; handed down as fundamental tradition; established by the document of the New Testament; and preached as an essential part of the Paschal Mystery along with the cross. We should rejoice and be glad because Christ Resurrection and the risen Christ Himself is the principal and source of our future resurrection. We shall not die forever. We shall rise on the last day. Yet our future resurrection depends on our life of faith today; for those who have done good will rise and live, and those who have done evil will rise and be condemned. ( John 5:29 ) Our rejoicing and gladness today must therefore be paired with a renewed and gladsome struggle to live our faith in thought, words, and deeds every day. And if ever we sin, let us return to God through the Holy Sacrament, so that we may continuously experience a foretaste of our future resurrection by rising from the grave of sin to a new life of grace. Hence, Easter Season will always serve as a reminder to all generations irrespective of color and creed, that the Son of God went through the pain of betrayal by those whom He trusted most, and later crucified by the powerful. Easter, is also our inspiration of tomorrow’s hope amid of our trouble today. By it, we take heart in God’s promise to all who heed His Word, seek His Truth and Justice, and hold fast to His unfailing love. A Festival of Life’s Triumph

To triumph life adversaries is to walk with it in faith and close connection to God’s message of truth. The Easter event is the declaration of God’s message that is always new and will never fade. Remembering the account of women who went to the tomb (Mary Magdalene, Salome, Mary mother of James – Mark 16) it was a surprise of a lifetime that was a message passed on from generation to the next. The darkness that filled that early morning 3 days after Jesus’ death was evident, the sun was still hiding and they were filled with fear, it is a challenging truth that reflects our need to search and seek for Jesus in our life, especially during the darkest hour of life. They were determined to bring the spices and anoint Jesus’ body which today is likened to offering flowers to the grave. That account of brave women approaching Jesus’ tomb was an act that is being asked of us today, that whatever life brings, let us all offer and bring joy to the Lord’s presence, bringing in what He commands us to do. Meanwhile, as we are challenged to celebrate and feast in this life, let us all the more understand of God’s perfect gift for man, that is forgiveness and salvation. Festival is associated with celebration, the word fest derives from the Middle English, from Middle French word festivus. Festival was first recorded as noun in 1589. Before it had been used as an adjective from the fourteenth century, meaning to celebrate a church holiday. If we are to use festivities it should first and foremost be given to the one who made an exemplary offering of life and meaning of life. The celebration do not only mean happiness and joy, because the truth in life, is that we walk continuously and travel carrying Christ’s cross, this means hardships and trials, which in return makes a jewel in us. Jesus’ resurrection is the truth we hold, this is the concrete reflection of life lived in Jesus. As we look on the cross, let us be reminded of His everlasting life offered to all, the triumph we see comes from Jesus our redeemer, He lived again and will always reign to remind us that in life we rejoice whether in sorrow and defeat because we know that easter is a story of a saviour who gave His life for all.

I BELONG TO GOD’s F5

Sabi nila ―to see is to believe‖.

Na ―To see is to Believe‖.

tanggapin ninyo Siya bilang Panginoon, tagapagligtas, kaibigan, at tagapaglikha natin.

I Belong to God's F5 ".

PERSECUTIONS

2 Timothy 3:12: Everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. When Jesus came into this world and preached, all the people were amazed at the power and authority that characterized His ministry. He would heal the sick, cast out demons, teach and preach no or ordinary person can do. He made many friends but he made some enemies who were willing to kill Him. They accused Him of blasphemy Matthew 9:3. They accused Him of being a demon Luke 11:15. Until finally, with some false witnesses they sentenced Him to die. He was flogged, stripped naked, spat at and crucified outside the city. This persecution is true not only for Jesus, but also for His followers. James the brother of John was put to death by Herod. Stephen was stoned to death. Paul and Silas were stripped and severely flogged and thrown into prison. What was the case against them? Speaking in the name of Jesus and teaching His commandments. The eleven original disciples of Jesus, ten are said to have died martyrs except for Judas Iscariot who turned his back on Jesus. Today, there are mighty men and women of God who were persecuted. Martin Luther was persecuted for his justification by grace through faith. John Wesley, George Whitefield, William Seymour, Smith Wigglesworth who were known for their powerful healing ministry and pioneering an intense faith for God. These people suffered persecutions in protecting the true faith. Having heard and seen these stories of men and women who were persecuted because of their faith, do not think that any of us will be exempt from persecution as we allow ourselves to be used by God. Here at UCCP – Sabang I cannot categorized some of the small-time persecutions, although they are not compliments but harsh words of non-approval of what you are doing for the Lord. For instance, they do not approve the manner you teach your Sunday school, like the manner Paul taught direct to the point and bold. A few of the listeners will whisper unkind words; still others say their comments dramatically. But this is to be expected since we are in the process of setting the norm for the church. Let us always choose to be on the side of God. Prayer: ―Lord, fill me with the Holy Spirit that whatever I do and say I will be a God-pleaser and not a man pleaser. Teach me to understand that people may not like me but what matters is that you shine your face on me. Let me see power flow in me and through me. Lord, teach me to walk with Jesus and not be separated from Him. In Jesus name, Amen.‖

TO BE SPIRIT LED by Rev. Daniel Forster

―And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.‖ Matthew 9:35-38 (ESV)

Everything Jesus did or said was in Fathers will. His guidance and direction to teach and to heal for hundreds of thousands of people came from Father, by the Spirit of God. Even though Jesus was in the flesh, Him and Father and the Spirit were still as one.

Jesus says to His disciples that the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. He tells them to pray for more laborers, but not just any laborer. Those who labor for Father are in His will; they are in Christ and He is in them, by the power of the Holy Spirit. Those who labor for Father are Spirit led in all they do. To be Spirit led is a way of life, it’s not something we just do when we are doing ―ministry‖. To be Spirit led is to be free from the binds of this world, to go and walk freely in Christ as He works freely in you. The harvest is the world around us…not in our church buildings, and not in church programs. The harvest is still plentiful; however, the laborers are still few. We don’t need a mission package for our communities to reach out and share the Good News. We need Spirit led laborers. God wants Spirit led laborers, for it is Him who saves; not us. It is His compassion that changes the world; not our actions or words. It is His Spirit that transforms lives; not our good deeds or powerful messages When we are led in the Spirit in everything that we do, all circumstances in life meant nothing. We could only see what Father was doing and nothing else…hence our Joy, and the fruit of His Spirit working in us. This is the life we want to lead. This is the life of ministry we want to share with others. This is the church, being Spirit led. Prayer: Father, I pray today that you are in control,

that I forsake it all to you Lord. Let me be led by your Spirit all day, every day. Let me die to my flesh and my own desires. Let me die to my frustrations and the way I have always thought and looked at circumstances. Let me just be led by your glorious Spirit and bask in your presence all day. Lord I ask this in Jesus name, Amen. Do you feel your life is Spirit led 24/7, or just some of the time?

Parents Can Help Prevent Childhood Obesity by Josefina T. Gonzales, RUMD

Findings of the national nutrition surveys conducted by the Food and Nutrition Research Institute of the Department of Science and Technology (FNRI-DOST) have shown an increasing trend in overweight prevalence among school children in the Philippines in the last decade, from 5.7percent in 1989 to 8.0 percent in 1993 and to 8.8 percent in 1998.

The Whiz Kids for Fitness program aims to reduce

the number of overweight children through nutrition education and physical activity. A major finding of the study was the meager and non-significant decline in the proportion of overweight children over a two-year period. The small reduction in the proportion of overweight could partly be the consequence of the physical inactivity among the children. Sedentary lifestyle has been shown as one contributory factor to the obesity problem. Results also showed that children in private schools are prone to obesity because they are exposed to calorie rich foods and sedentary behavior in the home and in the school environment.

Fortunately, a healthy home environment can

promote healthy habits. Parents have a profound influence on children by promoting certain values and attitudes, by rewarding or reinforcing specific behaviors, and by serving as role models. They make daily decisions on recreational opportunities, food available at home, and childrens allowances. Parents also determine the food choices and food pattern in the home. They implement countless other rules and policies that influence how much each member of the family engages in healthful eating and physical activity.

As children grow, they begin to make their own choices at school and in other places away from home settings. It is for this reason that parents and caregivers should teach children to eat reasonable amounts by controlling portion sizes and encouraging children to stop eating when they feel full. Parents can also promote healthful food selections by making nutritious foods available at home and by encouraging family to eat together. Studies show that the more families eat together, the more likely children and adolescents will consume fruits, vegetables, grains and calcium-rich foods. Parents should be supportive of their children athletic and other physical activity interests. They should enhance opportunities for children to play outside and engage in both recreational activities as well as incorporating an active lifestyle into daily routines like walking or biking to the grocery or sari-sari store. Parents can set a good example for children by modeling healthful eating behaviors and being physically active.

Pastor’s Corner from cover page ........... Conclusion : Brothers and Sisters, Easter Season will serve as our strength to always look forward to something good, order and beautiful. May it empower our faith to God and in His immense love for us. The victory of our life over death, love over hatred, and mercy over vengeance. The risen Christ is our Ultimate hope! that reminds us all the days of our lives. Therefore, let us always focus on Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith. Indeed, let us unite and forgive one another, as God’s Household, so that the path of love, freedom, justice, and peace will be flung wide open, and His sufferings, death and resurrection will have more meaning, as we travel on in history. In conclusion, let us ponder and make part of our devotions the widely-invoke ― Prayer of Saint Francis Of Assissi,‖ thus: Lord, make me an instrument of your peace; Where there is hatred, let me sow love; Where there is injury, Pardon; Where is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope: Where there is darkness, light; Where there is sadness, joy; O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; To be understood, as to understand; To be loved, as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; It is in pardoning, that we are pardon; And it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life. Amen.

As had been the tradition in the DLA, the Grade 6 batch of graduates closed their elementary school life in a Spiritual Retreat on March 1&2, 2013 at the Saquilayan Farm House, Gen. Trias, Cavite for two days and one night and in the school campus in the morning where parents joined them for Covenanting Worship. There were self-discovery exercise, team building activity and games. The highlight was the parent-child dialogue which was incorporated in the Closing Worship. Each Grade 6 was encouraged to ask his/her parent a question that has been sitting in their mind and heart for some time now looking for answers. Most questions thrown pertained to their family relationships. The retreat theme, ―Following Jesus….Following the Stars!‖ led the graduating class into a deep awareness of God’s presence in their lives on whom they could indeed offer themselves wholly.
