ABOUT THE HOST INSTITUTION

This college was inaugurated on 30th January 1990 (Vasanth Panchami) the 100th Birthdayof Guru Shree Shanti Vijaiji and is named after him. This institution founded by Shree

Mahaveer Jain Kalyan Sangh, a voluntary charitable association, is established with thenoble goal of imparting quality education to young women, with a blend of moral values,modern outlook and cultural traditions. Keeping in mind the tremendous influence awomen exercises on her family and the society as a whole, we aim not only at academicexcellence but also the total personality development of students.A team of eminent anddedicated staff members in our college strive hard to produce excellent results withseveral university ranks in the University examinations every year. ABOUT THE NATIONAL LEVEL EVENTS – U – SHINE 2012

The College organized several National and State level Conferences in the past. Thenumerous research papers published and the Conferences conducted at the National /State level exhibits the enthusiasm shown in academic activities.This year we areorganizing a 2 Day National Level Intellectual youth Fiesta-U-SHINE 2012 on the maintheme “Poverty –Free , Corruption –Free , Golden India ” as an annual event on the eve of birth anniversary celebrations of our founder Yogiraj Guru Shree Shantivijaiji (a Jain Saint)with a prime motto to expand academic knowledge and awareness of current affairs in theaspiring youthful students.This National Level Intellectual youth Fiesta on “Poverty –Free ,Corruption –Free , Golden India” is organised by the Department of Commerce,Management, Computer Science & IT, English and Languages of GSS on 27th & 28th

January, 2012. The students from various Universities / Affiliated colleges located all overIndia are invited to participate in the Conference. Several reputed distinguished dignitariesand experts will join and motivate the participants. As a part of the Two Day Celebrationsplethora of events are being organized for the visionary youth as detailed hitherto.

EVENT ONE: Two Day National Conference

DATES : 27 th & 28 th January 2012

THEME : “VISION 2025: POVERTY–FREE CORRUPTION-FREE

GOLDEN INDIA”

Sub Theme 1: Impact of Economic Development and inclusive

Growth towards alleviation of poverty

Sub Theme 2: Root causes of corruption & contribution of

Govt & Society in eliminating corruption

SPECIFICATIONS

Presentation time will be 20 minutes with additional time of 10 minutes for

discussion.

It is a team presentation consisting of three students, (Not more than one

from a P.G. Course). Student from any department may participate. (Male

& female).

Mere reading of paper is not acceptable. Such paper presenters would not

be considered for any awards / prizes.

Student Paper Presenters with good oratorical skills only need to prepare &

send the paper.

Kindly note that papers in full form & relevant to the theme (sub theme) willqualify for evaluation by the Preliminary selection panel.

An overhead projector and a LCD projector with power point software will

be available for presentation of papers

Originality is expected & the paper will be scanned by the plagiarism

detector.

Papers selected are eligible for presentation in the Seminar proceedings.

There can be no change of team members at a later stage after registration.

Names of participants, their addresses (postal, e-mail, tele nos., mobile etc.)

should be clearly indicated for further communication.

If the team found violating the rules or misbehaving shall be disqualified on

the spot.

The Paper should be computer printed (Two Copies) with clear

identification of the Team mates (Photos), Certified by the institution /

Department Head and sent to us preferably in Floppy / CD and to reach

IMPORTANT DATES

Date of receipt of Abstract(TWO FIFTY WORDS) on or before 15th Dec’11

Date of receipt of paper before Thursday, the 22nd Dec’11.

Full paper format – A4 up to six pages Font size – 12 pt

Font style– Times New Roman MS WORD Format.

Communication to selected teams for presentation by Thursday, the 5th January,

2012.

Registration as a delegate by 16 Th January 2012.

Dates of the National Conference – 27th & 28th January 2012.

PRIZES / AWARDS / HONORARIUM / CERTIFICATES

The Best Paper Presenting Team in the entire Seminar (all the 2

technical sessions) as judged by experts, will be presented a cash prize of Rs.

7,500 (Seven Thousand Five Hundred only) and a shield with certificates.

The Second Best Paper Presentation Team in the Seminar is to be awarded a

cash prize of Rs. 5,000 (Five Thousand only) and a shield with certificates.

All other teams presenting the paper at the seminar, who do not qualify to get

any of the above Prizes will be given a Honorarium Award of Rs. 1,000/- (One

Thousand Only)per Team with certificate.

OTHER IMPORTANT DETAILS OF THE CONFERENCE

Accommodation will be arranged for Paper Presenters & Delegates at

university hostels on prior request.

Food & Refreshments will be provided during the conference by the Host

Institution.

Participation Certificates will also be given to the Delegates.

All the team mates whose papers are received before Thursday, the 22nd

Dec’11 but not selected for presentation are eligible to participate in the

conference as delegates.

EVENT TWO: POSTER DISPLAY

DATE : 27 th January 2012

THEME : “MY INDIA, MY DREAM”

GUIDELINES FOR PARTICIPATION

Team participation ( two participants from each college)

Materials required have to be brought by the participants.

Posters should be done in A3 size (either portrait or landscape pertaining to

the theme)

Art work must be original & not modified derivatives of any other published

art work.

Creativity, originality of thought & relevance to the theme will be the judging

criteria.

Posters have to be designed on the day of event in the venue.

ELIGIBILITY: Students of Fine Arts/Visual communication or similar skill

based courses with the required skills to design a poster will be fitting to

participate.

Cash award for Best poster display Rs.5000/- and a certificate

Cash award for 2 nd Best poster display Rs.3000/- and a Certificate.

Two Consolation prizes of Rs.1000/- each.

RULES

Team participation .(Team consists of two persons only)

Participants shall not be allowed to use mobile or other electronic

instruments.

Replacement of any participant of a team is not allowed after

registration.

Prelims will be conducted in case of more entries one hour before the

conduct of finals.

The decision of the Quiz Master will be final.

Cash award for Best team Rs.4000/- and a Certificate.

Cash award for Second Best team Rs.2000/- and a Certificate.

GUIDELINES

One team per college.

A team consists of Minm 6 – Maxm 10 participants.

Duration - 10 mins

Vulgarity should be avoided.

Medium of communication – English only

Costumes should be brought by the team.

Criteria for judgement will be based on theme, costume, choreography & stage

acting.

Last Date for receipt of script synopsis 20/12/2011.


ELIGIBILITY: Students of Fine Arts / Schools of Drama/ Theatre or students

with the required professional theatrical skills will be fitting to participate.

Cash award for Best theatrical presentation Rs.12,000/-
