New to Palestine ISD this year is the Ball Handlers of Palestine, also known as BOP, which is providing plenty of opportunity for exercise. The program is taught by Coach Amy Robinson with the assistance of Coach Kym Chapa and Coach Rose Kyzar. BOP is made up of boys and girls in grades K-6 who signed up for the program because they wanted to learn about basketball and ball handling skills. The BOP group has given several high energy performances during halftime shows at high school basketball games which have contributed greatly to the atmosphere and fun of this year’s basketball season. BOP is available to all students in grades K-6 who want to participate. The cost is $20.00 per student which provides each student with a basketball, t-shirt, and definitely a great time while learning about the game of basketball. Congratulations to Palestine High School students for their accomplishments at the Business Professionals of America (BPA) Regional Leadership Conference in Rockwall last weekend. Students qualified in the areas of Medical Office Procedures, Legal Office Procedures, PC Servicing, Financial Analysts, and Small Business Management. These students will travel to Corpus Christi for BPA’s State Leadership Conference in March. We wish them the best! Hard work and dedication is paying off for the Wildcat Soccer team. According to MaxPreps, the team has been named the #1 4A soccer team in the state. The Wildcats played the very experienced 5A Whitehouse Wildcats this week winning the opening match 2-0 making the Wildcat’s overall record 13-1-1. Way to go Wildcats! I hope everyone enjoyed the coffee and hot chocolate “pick- me-up” this week. We appreciate your hard work!
