young Philanthropists represent the next generation of leaders. as young professionals who have chosen the tri-county as the place to plant roots, develop our careers and raise families, we want to do our part through philanthropy and action to improve the quality of life for all in our community.

since 2011, the young Philanthropists society has provided members (Palmetto society donors age 40 and under) with engagement opportunities in the areas of:

• Volunteerism• Education• Professional Development• Networking

Last year, more than 120 young Philanthropists society members contributed $192,945.00 to the community through Trident united way, helping to strengthen our community for years to come.

a Message from our Chair

In a community which offers so much for us to be proud of, it is a great time to give back through leadership and invest in the tri-county. There are so many present opportunities which depend upon our action to ensure a similar quality of life for each of us in the future.

Contributions of all sizes truly matter but, we are proud of young Philanthropists who step up to the challenge to give more. It ensures that the tri-county remains a great place to live, learn and work. This is why we choose YPS. YPS leadership gifts to Trident united way reflect solid, efficient investments for the prosperity of this community. also, it leads to access for opportunities to network professionally, to volunteer and to exercise leadership roles on boards and committees throughout the tri-county.

Finally, you are engaged with social opportunities at signature yPs events such as the Members only Celebration, and high impact volunteer projects with partner agencies and engaging networking events throughout the year. Younger professionals impact the community by joining the yP20s - an energetic group of donors aged 29 and under. whatever your status - recent college graduate, early professional career or evolving philanthropist - choose yPs as a highly impactful way to get involved and advance your community.

why i’m a yPs member

i am a yPs Member because i believe that young professionals need to be ‘counted and heard’ in the philanthropic community. we represent the future of charitable giving, and yPs is the best vehicle for us to learn and contribute to the greater tri-county region.

Just being a part of the Trident united way staff was not enough for me. donating to the cause to support the vision and having the ability to network with like-minded professionals made yPs a group i wanted to be a part of.
