Trelleborg 320/85R38 Radial Pivot Tire

Case Study - Pivot tire track testTwo towers of 320/85R38 Trelleborg radial tires were installed on a Zimmatic pivot in Brule, NE. That same pivot also had 11.2x38 bias tires and 11x24.5 recap tires. The tires were installed in late summer on a winter wheat field. The soil conditions were extremely sandy loam. Watering rates were normal with appoximately 1/2 inch being applied per pass. The pivot did not have flow control or similar system installed that would skew results.

The field was evaluated in late fall after the wheat had sprouted and the pivot had run 4-5 times around the field. Noticeable differences were observed between tire tracks. The recap produced the most extreme ruts while the Trelleborg radial performed extremely well.
