The Romantic RhoneArt historian and author Olivier Bernier lectures frequently at the Met. His loyal following of travelers have joined him on journeys around the world, from the palazzi of Venice to the temples of Angkor Wat.

CHRIS NOEYIndia: East to West

As the General Manager of Media Production, Emmy Award-winning producer Chris Noey specializes in video installations, which he has overseen for exhibitions including Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty (2011). An expert in Islamic art, he has led several Travel with the Met programs to India.

JOAN ARUZIstanbul to Tehran by Rail

As Curator in Charge in the Met’s Department of Ancient Near Eastern Art, Joan Aruz was the force behind the landmark exhibition, Assyria to Iberia at the Dawn of the Classical Age (2015). She has led numerous Met programs to Turkey, the Middle East, and islands of the Eastern Mediterranean.

FREYDA SPIRADutch & Flemish LandscapesA curator in the Department of Drawings and Prints, Freyda Spira is an expert in the German Reformation and the art of Northern Europe. A lively lecturer with a wide variety of interests, Freyda also oversees the Museum’s holdings of ephemera, including the impressive baseball card collection.

INES POWELLEl Camino de Santiago

A native of Spain, Inés Powell has lectured at the Met for over 30 years, and her engaging talks have gained her a faithful following. A few years ago, Inés walked the entire French route of the Camino de Santiago. She considers the experience to be one of the most enlightening in her life.

WOLFRAM KOEPPEAncient Wonders of Sicily

Curator of European Sculpture and Decorative Arts, Wolfram Koeppe is the lecturer on the Met’s 2016 Sicily cruise aboard Sea Cloud II. His passion for the Baroque will be nourished on a visit to the city of Noto, recognized for its achievements in the art and architecture of this period.

PIERRE TERJANIANThe Baltic’s Amber Coast

Curator in Charge of the Met’s Department of Arms and Armor, Pierre Terjanian is a specialist in medieval and Renaissance armor. His expertise and unique lectures will enrich our Baltic cruise and illuminate this fascinating area of European art.

MARYAN AINSWORTHWaterways of the Tsars
