that of the IIFT's function as an educational institution.

GENERAL PRINCIPLES

1. STUDENT BEHAVIOUR

1.1 Behave in a courteous and considerate manner and should set a good example. At

no time does a student have the right to behave in a manner which disrupts the learning of

other students, or which causes another student physical or emotional harm.

2. REASONS FOR THE EXPULSION FROM IIFT

2.1 Is a final warning

2.2 Series of three warnings however falls away, when:

2.2.1 a student in the opinion of the D.C. (Disciplinary Council) affects the moral and

disciplinary standards of the IIFT or the emotional and physical well-being of other students.

2.2.2 refers to matters such as theft, dishonesty and assault when criminal charges may

be laid. In these instances a student may, with immediate effect, be issued with a final

warning or expelled from the IIFT.

3. DENIAL/LOSS OF PRIVELEGES/RECOGNITION

The Disciplinary Council will:

3.1.1 Participate in extra-mural activities in tours and excursions

3.1.2 A basic criteria for all awards awarded to students by IIFT, is good behaviour. This

also applies to SRC - members. Students, who have already received such an award/

bursary and then behave in a manner which disgraces that honour or award, will

forfeit the award/bursary immediately.

4. GENERAL

4.1 The ultimate goal of this policy is to ensure that with the on-going changes, IIFT is able to

maintain a standard of discipline acceptable to the students, parents and staff.

4.2 Without discipline, constructive and meaningful education cannot take place.
