Dear Student and Employer
Welcome to Cambridge Regional College and your Apprenticeship Programme.
This is your diary and a log for training; please keep it safe and bring it with you to college and/or your review.
This book will take you through a training and assessment plan, which will be generic, for some part, and then learner and employer specific to meet the needs of your programme, National Standards and your employment.
· The learning and training hours for the NVQ, on and off job MUST be evidenced. The hours recommended are a COMBINED; 4 hours of skills training per week over a minimum of a 60 week period. Training plans are provided by the provider sourcing the learner’s practical skills and knowledge learning, this will assist you and your employer plan and facilitate training in the workplace. Learners will complete a diary, and employers will verify, a register, record and reflection on the skills learnt.
· Maths and English are part of the Apprenticeship Framework and Standards. They have been developed to provide young people and adults with core, transferable skills that they need to help them adapt and learn through their working life and in the changing economy. Functional skills are exam tested. We are required to evidence 45 hours over the year. (A*- C can be used as an exemption against the relevant functional skills)
· Frameworks ONLY- Employment Rights and Responsibilities which are being delivered have been expanded to include; statutory rights, employment law and Legislations, DDA, H&S, organisation documentation which helps to protect their relationship with the employer. Equality and Diversity, industry organisations, career pathways, representative bodies, information on training, codes of practice and forming views on issues of public concern. We are required to evidence 15 hours delivery for ERR.
· Frameworks ONLY-Personal Learning and Thinking skills will be imbedded into your training and signposted in your training diary- Independent enquiry, creative thinking, reflective learning, team work, self-management and effective participation. We are required to evidence 15 hours for improving PLTS.
· Behaviours, Values, Professionalism, Communication, and safe working practices are embedded within the qualification units.
· The end‐point assessment stage will provide a ‘snap shot’ holistic assessment of your practical skills, similar to an industry trade test. You will demonstrate that you can complete a range of skills to industry standards and within commercial timings. Your communication skills, safe working practices, professionalism, values and behaviours will be integrated into the end‐point assessment.
· The end‐point assessment will test the skills knowledge and behaviours set out in the standard through practical assessment, professional discussion, oral questioning, assignments and projects. Your assessor will go through the requirements of your End Point Assessment with you.
