3.0 SAFETY DECALS 1. Keep decals clean. Remove dirt with a wet clean cloth when necessary. 2. Replace safety decals if destroyed, missing, painted over or unreadable. If the tractor safety decals are covered or obscured when the cab is mounted, purchase replacement decals from the tractor manufacturer. Mount them in a readable location at, or near, their original location before operating the tractor. 3. New cab decals and tractor decals are available from your Toro distributor/dealer.

———————————————————————————————

8. Use existing hole on left side of front bracket to mark area to drill hole in mower for left side fastener.

———————————————————————————————

9. Remove front bracket and drill ½” hole on left side. ———————————————————————————————

Page 11: Toro_gm3280_mountinst_version2

11

10. Refasten front bracket loosely against front platform using only front four holes. Leave the sides unattached for now.

———————————————————————————————

11. Take seat stop bracket and install in seat track at rear of travel, with the fastener in the track.

———————————————————————————————

12. Install weather stripping on cab using O-rubber provided. See Bulb Seal Schematic on page 18. ———————————————————————————————

13. Remove left door and escape window from cab. Attach cab lift brackets to holes in upper A-C crossmember and lift cab off shipping pallet, using an over-head crane. Slide seat to most forward position. ———————————————————————————————

14. Install all four rubber isolators onto mounting brackets. See Bolt Hole Alignment Schematic on page 17 for order of fasteners. ———————————————————————————————

Page 12: Toro_gm3280_mountinst_version2

12

15. Lower cab onto isolators. ———————————————————————————————

16. Tighten rubber isolator mount nuts to 7/8” distance between steel plates. Ensure equal distance on both sides for cab squareness and proper fit. See Bolt Hole Alignment Schematic on page 17 for order of fasteners. ———————————————————————————————

17. Fasten remaining two side bolts on front bracket through hole drilled in Step 9. ———————————————————————————————

18. Tighten all fasteners to torque specs. ———————————————————————————————

19. Connect the Cab three prong connecter to the connector installed earlier. ———————————————————————————————

4.3 HEATER INSTALLATION 20. Drain anti-freeze from engine before proceeding.

———————————————————————————————

21. Locate the thermostat sensor on the right side of the thermostat housing, remove and set aside. Install provided 3/8 NPT adaptor. Reinstall sensor on end of adaptor. Install provided 3/8 NPT X 3/8” barb straight fitting into top of adaptor. This is the pressure fitting.

———————————————————————————————

Page 13: Toro_gm3280_mountinst_version2

13

22. Locate the lower rad hose below alternator on left side of engine. Cut out a 2” piece of hose from the straight piece of rad hose, and install the provided rad hose splicer. Secure splicer with HS-20 hose clamps. Install provided 3/8 NPT X 3/8” barb straight fitting into splicer.

———————————————————————————————

23. Locate the heater hose at the base of left cab C-Post. Route the hose into the engine bay. Ensure hose does not interfere with any moving engine parts. Cut the hose in half. Take the hose labeled pressure, and connect to fitting as shown. Take the other hose end and connect to the suction fitting. Use two provided HS-10 clamps to attach the hose to the fitting. PLEASE NOTE: Use a water sealant material around all fittings. ———————————————————————————————

24. Re-fill the engine with anti-freeze. Open the cab heater valve using the rotary control on the switchplate, and turn on the fan. Start the vehicle, engage the PTO and run at high idle for five minutes to build up the engine heat. Check for leaks and add anti-freeze if required. For maximum heater efficiency, all air trapped in the heater system must be evacuated. TIP: To purge system of air, open radiator cap while running the engine. ———————————————————————————————

25. Continue running the engine and adding anti-freeze as required until cab heater produces hot air. PLEASE NOTE: The heater should be producing HOT air at high idle. Continue adjusting heater control lever cable until that point is reached. ———————————————————————————————

4.4 CAB INSTALLATION CONTINUED 26. Take the provided drawing, and using it as a guide, drill the two 5/16” holes as

shown. Take the pedal box parts and slide mechanism underneath the operator platform.

———————————————————————————————

27. Bolt into place with 10-24” X 3/4” screws and 1/4” X 1” screws (both provided.)

—————————————————————————————

28. Take the main cab floormat and place over operator platform. Ensure that there is no pedal interference, and then glue into place. ———————————————————————————————

29. To ensure maximum protection against sound and moisture penetration, use a black urethane sealant to fill all cracks and small openings around the floormat and a silicone sealant around the various seals.
