1909: SPORTS: Baseball great Honus Wagner orders American Tobacco Company take his picture off their "Sweet Caporal" cigarette packs, fearing they would lead children to smoke.

The shortage makes the Honus Wagner card the most valuable of all time, worth close to $500,000.

1912: SINKING OF THE TITANIC Men in tuxedos are observed smoking cigarettes as they await their fate.

1922: REGULATION: 15 states have banned the sale, manufacture, possession, advertising and/or use of cigarettes.

In early ads artist were hired to paint or sketch the ads

As times progressed the ads were sent to printing companies for mass production
