I. To God Be the Glory Because of His Person!

•First and foremost, we give God glory because of His person! There is no one else like God! His is the “Eternal One!” (Gen. 1:1)

•“In the beginning God” God is the beginning of all things, but God has no beginning!

•God is the only self existing one, God is not depended on us, but rather we are depended on God!

Because of His Person!

•God is not held by the boundaries of time!

•Ps 90:4 For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

•2Pe 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

There are three words often used to describe the person of God!

•Omniscient = God is “all” knowing, He doesn’t just know some things, He knows everything! (Eccl. 12:14; Heb. 4:13)

•Omnipotent = God is “all” powerful, there is no one greater in power than God! (Rev. 19:6)

•Omnipresent = God is “all” places, He is everywhere at all times! The phrase “I am with you” 22 times in the Bible! (Mt. 28:20)

•We should glory God because of His person!

II. To God Be the Glory Because of His Position!

•This point follows our last, because of the person of God we give Him glory, but also because of His position!

•Mt 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Because of His Position!

•The Apostles understood this!•Acts 4:19 But Peter and John

answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.

•Acts 5:29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

inferior to God!•All power and authority belongs to God!

(Rom 13:1-2)•God “rules” in the kingdoms of men!

(Dan. 4:24-25)•There is no one else like God, we give

God glory because of His position!

III. To God Be the Glory Because of His Pardon!

Truly God is good to us! A-men! •Jas 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift

is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

•Even knowing that we would sin, God still created us knowing what it would cost His Son to save us in the end! (Jn. 3:16)

•Pardon = the action of forgiving or being forgiven for an error or offence; the remission of legal consequences of an offence or conviction

Page 13: To god be the glory!

God has done for us what we could never do alone!

2Co 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the

righteousness of God in him.•Jesus paid the price we owed so that we could be set

free and pardoned from sin!•Re 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful

witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

•1Jo 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
