MEASURE R PROJECT DELIVERY COMMIITEE MARCH 18,2010
SUBJECT: MEASURE R COMMUNICATIONS
ACTION: RECEIVE AND FILE
RECOMMENDATION
Receive and file report on Measure R communications.
ISSUE
Complete transparency of information was a cornerstone of the Measure R initiative. Staff has made great efforts to keep the public informed as to the status of Measure R expenditures and the progress of Measure R projects. This report presents a the strategy of Measure R communications and summary of informational activity.
DISCUSSION
One of the tenors of Measure R was transparency in reporting and oversight. Staff immediately established a Measure R website and placed project status on line for external review. Additionally, staff has created an information campaign that places all project delivery under one umbrella. The strategy for the campaign is to treat each project indlvldually but with one common look. This approach allows flexibility in messaging and efficiency in communications. The public will have specific project information but will also see the entire project delivery program.
Information materials supporting individual projects and overall Measure R project delivery include brochures, signs, fact sheets, web pages, progress reporb, stationery and newspaper.
Attached is a presentation outlining the effort and showcasing some of the graphic material.
NEXT STEPS
Staff will continue information efforts and keep the Board apprised of any developments.
