Summary

The NOVAtime system’s Employee category was enhanced and re-written using Single Page Application (SPA) to provide an enhanced look and feel, like the SPA EWS navigation released in 2017 and Supervisor Dashboard released in 2018. In addition, the new user interface (UI) provides an improved user experience.

• Using the SPA design, NOVAtime 5000 dynamically updates applicable sections of the Employee page (instead of refreshing the entire webpage), offering improved data interaction!

• The new Employee Info page is responsive and supports tablets and smartphones.

• Consolidated information to provide a better experience. For example, the Pay Profile consolidates three different tabs into one page.

Notes:

1. The functionalities in the current Employee category and the new SPA Employee category remain the same. For example, the required fields for inputting an employee on the Employees > General page do not change under the new Employee Info > General page.

2. There are no changes to access rights. If your supervisors currently do not have access to view the Employees > Pay Profile, your supervisors will still be restricted after the switch. If your managers have access to the Employees > Review page today, then after the switch, your managers will continue to have access.

Administrator / Supervisor Overview

1. Log in to Administrator Web Services (AWS) or Supervisor Web Services (SWS).

2. Navigate to the Employees > Employee Info page. On this page, the same sub-pages exist: General, Personal, Pay Profile, H.R. Profile, Reviews, and Lockouts.

3. When you navigate within the Employee Info page from one sub-page to another sub-page, only

the applicable sub-pages are refreshed.

4. Data is grouped into sections for easier access and readability. Clicking on the icon collapses

the section and clicking on the icon expands the section.

5. Employee List panel on the left side of the page: a. Employee Search: the search feature works like the SPA Timesheet page. Searching for

employees is enhanced to only update the Employee List section for quicker results. b. This Employee List panel remains on the page as you navigate from tab to tab within the

Employee Info page. c. The Filter inside the Employee List panel allows you to filter by employee and groups.

6. Employee Bar:

a. - Expand the Employee Bar area and minimize the Employee Bar. b. This Employee data remains on the page as you navigate from tab to tab within the

Employee Info page.

c. - Navigates to the Timesheet page for the selected employee. After the Employee

Bar is expanded, it’s replaced by .

d. - Navigates to the Template Schedules page for the selected employee. After the

Employee Bar is expanded, it’s replaced by .

e. - Click on the pencil icon to select the data elements such as Department, Job, Shift and Pay Policy in the Employee Bar.

f. If you have access to certain pages, you can navigate to the configuration pages by clicking on the data elements in the Employee Bar. (If the data element is blue, you can navigate to the page and it is clickable)

7. Action buttons. Two minor changes are listed below. a. Print Button (new function for the Employee Info page) b. Copy Employee (current name) → Copy (SPA name)

8. Employee Info > General sub-page: the same content is displayed on this page; some functions

have been moved to the More Functions button. a. More Functions button: this now includes Clock Assignment, Temporary Badge,

Change Password, Reset Password, NOVAmobile Device, and Biometric Auto Enrollment features.

b. Additional information regarding the More Functions button: i. Biometric Auto-Enrollment (new function) ii. Check NOVAmobile Employee Device (current name) → NOVAmobile Device

(SPA name) iii. Generate Temporary Badge (current name) → Temporary Badge (SPA name) iv. Time Clock Assignment (current name) → Clock Assignment (SPA name)

c. A new section “Additonal Exemptions (Optional)” is added to the bottom of the General

sub-page. The option, “Automatically apply Break/Meal Premium Waiver based on pay policy as of” was moved from the Employee > Pay Profile page under the Additional Exemptions section.

9. Employee Info > Personal sub-page: there are no changes to the contents of this page.

10. Employee Info > Pay Profile sub-page: we have consolidated three tabs into one page. a. Pay Rates section, which can be minimized or expanded. b. Job Rates section, which can be minimized or expanded. c. Miscellaneous section, which can be minimized or expanded.

11. Employee Info > H.R. Profile sub-page: there are no changes to the contents of this page except the Pause Seniority feature. The “Pause Seniority” feature is now enhanced to display based on the parameters configured at Company Setup > System Setup > Seniority Setup page.

a. If nothing is selected, this feature does not display on the Employee Information page. b. If any other option is selected, the Paused Seniority data appears on the H.R. Profile sub-

page and calculates seniority based on the parameter selected.

12. Employee Info > Reviews sub-page: the new page consolidates the Employees > Reviews and Employees > Web Reviews pages into one page.

a. Point System Documents section: these documents were previously stored under the Employees > Reviews page.

b. Review History section: the previous Reviews page stored all reviews in one memo text field. The new SPA Reviews page converts and stores all previous reviews in one document named Legacy Review Document. From that point forward, each review can be managed as a separate document.

13. Employee Info > Lockouts sub-page: this page will only appear if the Lockout module is enabled in your database.
