Between Vanoise National Park and the Col of Mount-Cenis, near the Italian border, come enjoy the resort of Val-Cenis!

The Savoie resort, tucked away at an altitude of 1460 m, offers 125 km of slopes for all levels, with 27 mechanical lifts.

You will begin in the heart of the village of Lanslevillard, 10 m from the closest chairlift, where you can take full advantage of your stay and of the powder snow!

You will spend a weekend full of skiing and relaxation!

Along with Versailles, widely considered the most remarkable château in the Paris region, the walls of Fontainebleau have received all of the monarchs who made France.

The initial feudal lodging was converted into a sumptuous palace by Emperor Napoleon. Expanded, decorated by the best artists of their time, Fontainebleau is worth a visit so you can take a fascinating dive into History. From the theatre of Louis XIV to the Cascades basin, designed by Le Nôtre, each detail and ornament has a tale to tell.

Constructed in the heart of an imposing natural forest that is highly-prized by Parisians, who go there to walk, ride bicycles and even go climbing, Fontainebleau is a world unto itself, just one hour from the capital.

Guided visit of the Château de Fontainebleau with an exploration of the Galerie des Cerfs (Gallery of the Stags) and the Galerie François Ier (Francis 1st Gallery) then lunch at the restaurant.

Bike ride in the surrounding forest, accompanied by a specialised guide. You should be in good physical condition, as the path is hilly, but the visit is worth the effort. This critically important site inspired the Impressionists and painters in the Barbizon school.Return to Paris at the end of the day.

Duration: one afternoon - one evening

What could be more enchanting than a 17th century castle set in a French garden? A masterpiece of the architect Louis Le Vau, after its construction the Château de Vaux-Le-Vicomte would become the reference for French architecture for more than a century. There’s no better way to enter this magical world than through the Carriage Museum, with its astonishing horse-drawn vehicles. Alongside your guide, you then explore the national heritage treasures, the ceremonial rooms, with their magnifi cently preserved furnishings, and the large underground kitchen. After tasting fruit preserves and pastries similar to those served to the Court, you then set out on two walks: They will reveal the thousand and one details of the gardens. At the end of the day, there’s a gourmet Baroque dinner with music at Le Relais de l’Ecureuil! It’s worthwhile staying for the fi reworks, which will cast a magical fi nal light on your day.

From Fort Boyard – an authentic fortress that has become the set for a TV game show televised around the world – to the Oléron and Aix islands, with a nod to the casual Ré, with its beaches of fi ne sand and white fi shermen’s houses, Charente Maritime casts a resolute regard out over the Atlantic.With three ports and a network of fortifi cations designed starting in the Middle Ages to resist land or sea assault, La Rochelle is the best example.

As for cuisine, the alliance of land and sea is also a great success. Take the time to explore the subtle fl avours of oysters from Marennes-Oléron, or a Charentais melon accompanied by a glass of Pineau.

Biarritz is a historic site where the crowned heads of Europe have holidayed since the 19th Century. Admire the Rocher de la Vierge (the Rock of the Virgin) and try your hand at surfi ng or Basque pelota.

From the La Rhune train, you will have a magnifi cent view of the Pyrenees, and the French and Spanish coasts.

At Saint-Jean-de-Luz, the seaside port city, you will encounter fi shing boats returning to port, the old houses of the ship-owners, houses with passageways, and the architectural remains of La Belle Epoque.

At Cambo-Les-Bains, the Villa Arnaga is an immense 40-room home decorated by Edmond Rostand, the famous writer and poet, with gorgeous, recently-restored gardens.

You then set out for Hendaye and the emblematic border town of Hondarribia, then San Sebastian, on the Spanish side. On foot in the old city, your guide will explain the Gothic and Renaissance-Baroque ornamentation of the San Vicente and Santa Marià del Coro churches, and the old town hall, now a library.

Saturday: Arrival in Biarritz for lunch and transfer on the La Rhune train so you can enjoy an exceptional panorama of the Pyrenees Mountains. Then a free visit in Saint-Jean-de-Luz, a beautiful historic seaside town. Dinner and night in a hotel in Biarritz.

Sunday: Departure for a guided visit of the Villa Arnaga, the former home of Edmond Rostand (classed as a historical monument), in Cambo-Les-Bains, then free time in the French garden. The legendary small round treat made of almond meringue, for any occasion.Macaroons are small round biscuits, crunchy on the outside with a soft interior.

Accompanied by a renowned chef from «Le Cordon Bleu» - the Institute for Excellence in the Culinary Arts - all of the secrets of the macaroon will be revealed to you, and by the end of the workshop you will be initiated in all of the techniques involved in making it.You will learn how to make chocolate and salted-butter caramel macaroons.

WHO CAN REGISTER?

• All grant-holders managed by Campus France. Only for an activity that takes place before the end of the grant.

• Their partners and children, if aged over 12 years.

• In some cases, a companion registered by the grant-holder. There is a fee to participate in the activities (see the “Fee conditions” box).

HOW CAN YOU REGISTER?

You can pay by e-payment (online) – please contact the Leisure Department by email: [email protected].

You can also book onsite at the Campus France head offi ce during working hours: option to pay by card and/or cheque (made payable to the Campus France Accounting Offi cer).

Finally, by post or to make a bank transfer,contact us: [email protected] booking is individual and made in your name. You cannot transfer or sell your booking to someone else.

Upon receipt of your payment, we will send you a receipt, which you must show to the Guide when you leave, along with your passport or residence permit.

Bookings close 8 days before bus and train dayneys and 30 days before aeroplane dayneys.Around 10 days before the start date of the activity, an email will be sent to all participants with all the practical information.

PRICE TERMS*

The amount payable is defi ned according to the rate of your grant and/or status: benefi ciary or non-benefi ciary, according to the specifi c organised assistance or not by the body that fi nances your grant. The price of each activity depends on the amount of the grant you receive every month:

• until 700 euros/month = price 1• over 700 euros/month = price 2• accompanying adult, spouse, children (aged over 12 years) and if the body that awards your grant does not contribute to Cultural Activities = price 3Administration fees: 5 euros per booking (included in the prices and non-refundable)

WHAT DOES YOUR BOOKING

INCLUDE?

Tourist outings, transport, accommodation, meals, guided tours, entry to the different sites included on the programme and the guides who lead the group.The participation amount is a global price including all the services organised, whether or not you use them.

CANCELLING YOUR BOOKING

You must cancel any booking by email. Any telephone cancellation must always be confi rmed in writing. The terms for refunds are as follows:

• cancellation 30 days before the activity start date: 100% refund• cancellation 29 days or less before the activity start date: no refund.

Administration fees are not refunded.Whatever the reason for cancelling even for medical reasons, these rules apply even if Campus France offers your place to another benefi ciary.

The leisure activities we offer are intended to encourage grant-holders, whose grants we manage, to meet and to allow you to discover France and the European capitals at a preferential rate.Twice a year, we offer a programme of cultural and sporting leisure activities for a fee; in groups, for a day, an evening, a weekend or a short stay.

TRANSPORT

Unless stated otherwise, all transport is by coach. The departures from and returns to Paris take place at Place Denfert-Rochereau (Metro or RER B: Denfert-Rochereau station). Meet in front of the Monceau Fleurs shop – 110 avenue Denfert-Rochereau, 75014 Paris – where your guides will meet you.For some destinations, travel is by train (TGV connection) or by sleeper coaches or Royal Class (overnight dayneys) or by aeroplane.In these cases, the meeting times and places will be sent to you by email a few days before departure.

travel beFore and aFter For Grant-holders livinG in the reGionBuy your own return ticket from your home to Paris or the activity venue. The tickets will be refunded when you return from the activity.

You can either buy:• SNCF tickets – ideally online on www.sncf.fr – to benefi t from preferential rates (for examplewith a youth travel card)• bus tickets such as Ouibus or Isilines• plane tickets – only if the price is lower than or equal to the price of an SNCF ticket• co-voiturage (car-sharing) places such as Blablacar, RoulezMalin, etc.

• For weekends and short stays that require an early morning departure on Saturday morning and a late return on Sunday night, free accommodation in a hotel or residence in shared rooms is offered. You are required to pay for dinners the evening before your departure (Friday evening) and of your return (Sunday night).

• For day trips, we cover the cost of transport to Paris and return but not accommodation

• For evening events, no coverage of transport cost or accommodation

ACCOMMODATION • You will stay in a 2* or 3* hotel in a twin room.• For some activities, you will stay in shared rooms.For couples: whenever possible, we book couples into double rooms, if required at the time of booking

MEALS

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are eaten in a restaurant. (We sometimes offer picnics or lunchboxes).Drinks are included in the menu: ¼ bottle of wine and/or water.Coffee is not automatically included in the menus.

Please note: taking alcohol to the activities is strictly forbidden

MENU INFORMATIONMenus are identical for all participants.

If you do not accept the meals offered to you, you must pay for your own meal on-site.

CHANGES OF PROGRAMME The programme featured in the brochure is purely indicative. Campus France reserves the right to modify a programme in the event of adverse weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances at the last minute. The Tour Leaders will take these decisions on the spot. Such changes will not entitle participants to any total or partial refund of the cost of the activity.Administrative formalities for travel abroadAlways check before departure that you are permitted to travel to and in the country of destination, and/or that you are in possession of a valid passport.

Important: a receipt for an application for a residence permit does not entitle you to leave French soil.A receipt from the Prefecture de Police for an application for the renewal of a residence permit is accepted, however.

• Holders of a valid temporary residence permit [student or scientist) or of a Schengen «multiple entry» visa: no administrative formalities required.

• Non-holders of a residence permit: you should check with the Prefecture of your department of residence and with the Consulate or Embassy of the country concerned for obtaining any authorisations required to leave and enter French territory.

INSURANCE

• If you are a member of our French social welfare system, you are covered against all risks incurred during the activity except for any exclusions provided for, including the practice of sports.

• If you are a member of the French Social Security scheme and have complementary insurance (through a «mutuelle»), you are covered against all risks incurred.

• If you are in any other situation, you must take out specifi c insurance to cover you against any risks of which you might be a victim or any loss or damage you might cause to a third party.

• Campus France accepts no liability in the event of theft of personal possessions or tickets. Be vigilant and keep all your papers and valuables with you.

GOOD MANNERS

You have booked a trip as part of a group made up of people of different nationalities.Respect for others, tolerance, friendliness and dialogue are the values we believe in and hope to share with you during these activities.Punctuality (departure, meeting and return times) is imperative. Out of respect for the other participants, the group will not wait for latecomers. We suggest you keep the programme for the activity with you, so that you can catch up with group later, at your own expense. The Tour Leader will hand you your admission ticket(s) to shows at the agreed meeting point. If you are late, your tickets will be left at the box offi ce for you to collect.
