Lady TigersThe Lady Tigers will play Clear Creek for Bi-District on TuesNov. 2nd at Manvel HS.   The match will follow the Austin vs. Clear Brook match.  Game time is set for 8:00 or when the previous match concludes.  

This will be a tough match and we will need

a lot of Tiger supporters.

verify their 2nd Semester Schedule

Class t-shirts will be sold EVERY Thursday for

$10!!! Remember that all proceeds support your

class prom!!

• The Ft. Bend Optimist Club is having a Essay Contest.  The contest is open to students under the age of 19, but is geared to Seniors in High Schools as there is a chance for a scholarship to the winner.   The topic of the essay this year is:  "How My Education is the Key to a Successful Future".  The essay needs to be between 700-800 words.  The deadline is  February 7, 2011.    This is a chance for someone from your school in the Ft. Bend School District to participate in the contest and possibly win a $ 2,500 college scholarship.Our Ft. Bend Optimist Club has had several winners in year's past!  We believe in the Ft. Bend School District schools.  You can have as many entries as you wish (one per student).  Let me know if you would be interested in learning more about the contest and I will send you the information.  The Ft. Bend Optimist Club is a non-profit club that helps kids!  We have been serving our community for the past 28 years.

Starting Monday, November 1st, THS will begin celebrating “Thank You Thursday”.

Each Thursday for the month of November, Travis faculty, staff, and students can celebrate the spirit of Thanksgiving by sending a note of

appreciation to another staff member or student.

Blank “Thank You” cards will be available in the library for students and in the mail room for

teachers.

Cards returned to the library by 3:00 p.m. Wednesday will be hand delivered to the

recipient Thursday during 2nd and 5th period.

Saturday (Nov 5 & 6). Concert is Sat. at 5 PM at Foster HS in Lamar CISD , Richmond if you

would like to attend.

• The Travis Belles will be holding auditions for the 11-12 Travis Belles Dance Team on Friday, December 3. The following events are mandatory for all candidates. Students do not need to be enrolled in dance class to audition.

• Mandatory Information Meeting: 6pm Mon. 11/15, THS Dance Room. Each Candidate must attend in order to audition. Parents are invited but not required. Will discuss tryout process, cost, schedule and rules / guidelines.

• Mandatory Tryout Clinic: 3-6pm Tues. 11/30, Wed. 12/1 & Thurs. 12/2, THS Auditorium.

• Each Candidate must attend each full day in order to audition. Canidates will learn Tryout Dance.

• 11-12 Travis Belles Tryouts: 3pm Fri. 12/3, THS Dance Room• Candidates will perform Tryout Dance in small groups in front of

judges.

• Length TBD depending on number of candidates.• Will find out results at end of auditions.
