There is this difference, however: the waves on the water move only on a level plane in all directions–whereas thoughtwaves move in all directions from a common center, just as do the rays from the sun. Just as we here, on Earth, are surrounded by a great sea of air–so are we surrounded by a great sea of Mind. Our thoughtwaves move through this vast mental ether–extending, however, in all directions, as I have explained–becoming somewhat lessened in intensity, according to the distance traversed, because of the friction occasioned by the waves coming in contact with the great body of Mind surrounding us on all sides. The above quote is from the book Thought Vibrations by William Atkinson, this literature is part of The New Thought Movement. A movement based on the belief that the mind is powerful. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Thought http://www.thoughtvibrations.com This entry was posted in Uncategorized . Bookmark the permalink . I have a high opinion of Mr. Atkinson. I got into him when I was 18 or 19. But you can only make his teaching come alive withchastity.

It’s only superficially NewAge (think the Secret). I sometimes think the NewAge movement was created andpromulgated by evil sources in order to discredit serious spiritual science. You know, stuff that actually works. If Iwere the Devil, I’d be a fan of Oprahtype “spirituality”, for sure.

The moral relativistic world view has embedded itself in many aspects of new age spirituality, the wholeidea there is no right and wrong. And that is a major problem I think.
