All women are invited Monday, December 16 at 6pm in Community Rooms A/B to an annual women’s ornament exchange. Bring a wrapped ornament costing about $5 and an appetizer to share. No RSVP required. Just come join in the fun and fellowship! If you have questions please contact Kaye Breeding at 502-316-3433 or the church office at 502-863-0173.

Children’s Advent Schedule

Please come celebrate with us as we prepare our hearts and homes for Jesus’ birthday during this advent season on Wednesday night’s Kids Club. You do not need to be a regular member of Wednesday nights to enjoy these events. All are welcome! December 11: Children and Youth will go caroling to several of our homebound members and Windsor Garden. We will meet at the church at 6:30 after the evening meal and ride together in the church van. December 18: Family Fun Craft Night! Please grab your family, an appetizer or side dish (sweet or savory) to share and your holiday spirit for a fun family friendly night of crafting as we approach the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. The church will provide the craft. RSVP is required for this event so that we will have enough crafts for all who want to participate. Please call or text Kim Kelsey (859-699-373) or Hillary Cooper (859-629-2426) to RSVP.

Christmas card boxes are now in the narthex

Christmas card boxes are located in the narthex just outside the church office. Save yourself a stamp and place your Christmas cards for active church members in the boxes sorted by last name. Considerations posted at the boxes. Please note that unclaimed cards will be discarded after January 5.

Commemorative Christmas ornaments available

This year’s commemorative Christmas ornaments have arrived. They are available in the narthex for $10 after each service. All ornaments from prior years are also available. Each ornament is made of wood and dated. This year’s depicts the Holy Family with the Star of Bethlehem overhead.

Financial commitments cards for 2020

Thanks to all those who have made commitments to support the church financially for 2020. Please continue to do so by dropping them off at the church office, mailing them to us or putting them in the offering plate. We’ll continue to receive these between now and January 1.

Teachers needed for 2020 Wednesday adult growth groups

If you’re interested in teaching or facilitating a Wednesday growth group, please contact Helen Patrick at 717-350-6282 or [email protected]. Teaching/facilitating one course would be your commitment, and it would start January 8. However, a decision regarding curriculum must be made by next Sunday, December 15.

Children’s Christmas Program is TODAY

It’s a highlight of Advent—the children’s ministries of Georgetown First present their annual Christmas program today at 8:30 and 11am. This year, it’s “All About That Baby,” a high-energy, fun-filled, biblically-inspired musical that all will love. Join us for forty minutes of pure joy as the story of Jesus’ birth is told in a fresh and engaging way. There are special cameo appearances by our staff performing in an angel band.

Chancel Choir Cantata is next Sunday, December 15

Join us on Sunday, December 15 at 8:30 or 11:00am as the choir sings about “The Light of Christmas.” The choir will be accompanied by a variety of instruments including flute, trumpet, hand bells and electric bass.

City of Bethlehem rehearsal and costume fitting TODAY

If you are a part of this year’s City of Bethlehem, please plan on attending the rehearsal and costume fitting TODAY at 3pm in the fellowship hall/gym. If you’re in the program, it is very important that you attend.

Baked goods needed for City of Bethlehem

Cookies, brownies, sweet breads and mini muffins are needed for City of Bethlehem. Start bringing your items Wednesday night, December 11 or to the church office on December 12 during office hours. If you have questions contact Judy Hambrick at 502-316-4152.

Prayer Walk this Thursday, December 12

Join us for a special Hour of Prayer this Thursday at 5pm in the narthex. We will be praying over and walking through the City of Bethlehem scenes. This is an important outreach for our local community and beyond. Please join us as we pray over this ministry event.

Widows Connection: Have a Merry Christmas!

Widows Connection will “Celebrate the New Year” on January 3 at Wilshire’s Restaurant (124 Gen. John Payne Blvd) at 11:30am. We will have a short program and fellowship.
