MGLive! will be packed full of exciting features to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the MG Car Club, the original club for MG enthusiasts.

The MG Car Club has run events at Silverstone since 1951, so the Northamptonshire based circuit has been a key part of our club’s history for nearly seventy years. Therefore, it is only � tting that we should return to commemorate the incredible milestone of the 90th year since the club’s formation.

As well as the club celebrations, there will also be features to mark the 25th birthday of our beloved MGF. There will also be the return of the MG Car Club Autotest as members compete for the coveted

California Cup, as well as a packed weekend of racing action on-track, live music, trade show, Autojumble, entertainment arena and interviews with key � gures from the club’s history.

The MG Car Club also welcomes MG Motor UK, who join us to support the event with displays of the latest MG models, including the latest electric cars wearing the octagon badge.

It’s going to be a truly memorable weekend of MG fun, so don’t miss out on the chance to celebrate this major milestone in the club’s history.

We have been working closely with the MG Car Club to ensure that their

very welcome return to Silverstone will be a huge success in 2020. We were extremely sorry for the cancellation caused by the essential resurfacing work last year, so it’s great to see MGLive! return. Silverstone will be doing all we can to ensure that the MG Car Club have all they need to ensure a fantastic MGLive! be� tting of their 90th anniversary.”

MG Live! is not just the world’s biggest festival of all things MG. It is also home to some of the most spectacular club motorsport you will ever see! Proving that there is something for everyone at MGLive! there is a full programme of racing out on track at Silverstone

throughout the weekend, all in addition to the show � eld, trade arena, live music and stunt driving displays.

The MG Trophy is one of the UK’s most hotly contested single make club championships. It o� ers wheel to wheel racing for the front wheel drive MG ZRs in 3 classes, and the more modern MG3. The MG Trophy is also known for producing superstar drivers of the future, like Jack Go� who is now competing in the British

Touring Car Championship.

The MGCC Peter Best Insurance MG Cup

Established for over 20 years, the MGCC Peter Best Insurance MG Cup is the UK’s most popular MG racing series and is the only championship for which any MG model is eligible. This always o� ers close fought racing. This year’s entry list

includes a range of MGs from post war T-Types through to sixties Midgets, MGBs and MGCs, plus more recent MGFs, Z series cars and current production models

such as the MG6 GT.

The MG Car Club’s long established BCV8 Championship is the premier series for MGB and MGC racing, o� ering classes for the fully modi� ed V8s to road going

cars. The noise alone is spectacular with the V8s ripping up the pit straight, door handle to door handle.

Cockshoot Cup

THE Cockshoot Cup Championship is a racing championship run by the North West Centre of the MG Car Club. The cars are split into four classes and cover

everything from Midgets, MGBs to ZRs, MGFs and MGTFs.

Lackford Engineering Midget & Sprite Challenge

The Midget & Sprite Challenge is the only exclusively ‘Spridget’ race series in the UK. With the backing of the well-known Classic Car restoration company, Lackford

Engineering, it is THE home for racing MG Midgets and Austin Healey Sprites of the kind built 1956-1979.

Stunt driving displays with Russ Swift

Over the years, Russ has established 3 Guinness World Records for Parallel Parking in the tightest space, a J-Turn in the tightest space and the fastest donuts! Russ will be demonstrating all these moves, plus passenger rides, driving a car on just two wheels and all sorts of other tricks and stunts for you at MGLive!

The MGs used for most of Russ’s display performances are absolutely standard speci� cation. Those driven on two wheels have only one modi� cation – a locked di� erential! To give you an idea of just how much tyre smoke, speed and excitement you can expect, consider this: Russ gets a maximum of 3 miles from a set of tyres whilst performing at MGLive! You can’t miss this!

Live entertainment

The Candy Girls are MGLive! favourites and we’re over the moon to have these exceptional performers back with us. They are a three-part harmony group of international repute, with worldwide audiences loving their repertoire of modern pop in a vintage style plus some golden oldie favourites thrown in for good measure. They are great fun on stage and very much a part of the MG Car Club family!

Their international careers have seen them perform in some of the biggest arenas and venues across the world but they always put on their best shows at MGLive! As well as being great friends on and o� stage, the girls share a love of all things vintage and harmonious! They enjoy a great musical partnership and above all value their wonderful “vocal blend” that is often commented on - this combined with their tight choreography and natural stage personalities really sets them apart from other three-part harmony trios.
