Director’s MessageWelcome to our April newsletter! If you haven’t heard the news already – Stage 2 has been released! We have people clamouring for a spot already – so we are not exaggerating when we say that you’ll have to get in quick or you could miss out.

In this month’s newsletter, you will see photos from many of the events in GemLife Bribie Island’s social calendar. It is fantastic to see such a great group of people already converging as a community and having so much fun.

On Thursday 8 March, our Twilight Happy Hour was held in our Sales Office with plenty of nibbles and drinks!

We’d like to say thank you to the many resident helpers on the day! After our whistles were suitably wet, we enjoyed a tour of the immaculate display homes and the recently launched Stage 2.

feel for the space and layout. Not only that, you’ll be able to learn more about the luxurious standard inclusions in our homes.

Keeping up to date with our residents is very important here at GemLife Bribie Island. As a pet friendly resort, we see our animals as part of the family – so in this section of our newsletter, we catch up with our hairier residents.

What type of dog are you?Lulu: I’m a miniature smooth-haired Dachshund.

How old are you? Lulu: I’m only 15 months. My mum rescued me when I was eight months old. My first owners didn’t know how to look after me properly, so I was very sad, thin and confused – that is, until I met my mum!

What’s your favourite treat?Lulu: I’m very spoilt and get lots of tasty things to eat, but my favourites are dehydrated fishy treats. Mum says they stink!

Do you have a favourite pastime?Lulu: I like to sit at the window in my comfortable bed, waiting for someone to walk along the lake path. I take my watchdog duties very seriously, so I leap through my doggy flap and let them know that I’m on guard and ready for action!

What are you looking forward to?Lulu: I can’t wait to meet new friends in the GemLife dog run and I’m hoping to go with Mum on her bike once the weather is a little cooler. Our village is close to the cycling paths and all the lovely beaches on Bribie Island!

Moroccan Lamb Tagine

FOODIE FUN

INGREDIENTS:

· 2 tbsps oil · 1kg lamb shoulder, diced · 1 onion, sliced · 2 red capsicums, seeded and sliced · 1/2 tsp ground turmeric · 1/2 tsp ground ginger · 1.5 tsp ground cumin · 1.5 tsp sweet paprika · 1 tbsp tomato paste · 1 tbsp harissa · 1/2 cup raisins · 400g can chopped tomatoes · 500ml chicken stock · 400g can chickpeas,

drained and rinsed · Fresh coriander to garnish

METHOD:

1. Heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Season diced lamb shoulder with salt and pepper.

2. Working in 2 batches, cook lamb for 5 minutes or until browned.

3. Remove from pan and set aside, then add onion and capsicums to pan. Cook, stirring for 4 minutes or until softened.

4. Add ground turmeric, ginger, cumin and sweet paprika and cook, stirring, for 1 minute or until fragrant.

5. Add tomato paste and harissa and cook, stirring, for 1 minute. Return lamb to pan.

6. Add raisins, chopped tomatoes, chicken stock and chickpeas. Bring to a simmer, then cover and cook for 2 hours or until lamb is very tender.

7. Season to taste with salt, pepper and lemon juice. Scatter over coriander springs and serve with couscous or rice.
