The Chancel Choir will be processing into the church more often. It is a liturgical

and historic part of worship.

place in ceremonial manner. It may include the carrying of crosses, banners, lights,

relics, branches or the Sacrament. History: Christian processionals have been known since the 4th century. They

invoke the Biblical exodus out of Egypt, the procession of the Ark of the Covenant,

entry of pilgrims into Jerusalem for festivals, and Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem for

Passover. Meaning: We gather for worship outside (our daily, secular lives and community)

Jubilee Ministry (Age 60 Plus or Younger retirees)

Harvesters

You are invited to join us Wednesday, October 3, 10:45am-12:00pm in

the Epworth Fellowship Hall. This month’s presentation will be

“Service Dogs” with Peggy and Sonny Morrow. These dogs are used to

assist wounded warriors among other things. Bring your favorite

$45 which includes the motor coach and park admission. You can bring

your own lunch or buy a lunch at the Jack in the Box in the park.

What is My Jerusalem

My Jerusalem is when God’s people have a

burden for those in their community who have

brokenness in their life. It’s when God’s people

take action to rebuild the broken.

My Jerusalem service day is scheduled for Saturday,

October 6. This is a great way to fellowship

BEYOND the church walls. Everyone can

participate! No experience or tools needed.

The theme this fall is “Repairing Walls ...Restoring People.” Ways to serve:

Our Reverse Trick or Treating at local nursing homes was a huge

success last year so we are making plans to do it again this year.

We are collecting the following items to give to the residents when we

visit: travel-size packages of Kleenex, sugar-free hard candy, crossword

puzzle books, travel-size packages of lotion, chapstick, socks and combs.

If you would like to donate these items, please place them in the bins

found in Mathison Lobby and the Preschool & Elementary check-in

stations before Sunday, October 21.

Parents have approximately 936 weeks from the time their child is born

until he or she moves onto what’s next. It goes by fast, and kids change and

grow quickly. This study will help you discover what’s changing about

your child, the six things your child needs most, and four conversations to

have with your child while they are in each phase.
