Safety of Argentina & ChileTraffic accidents are the biggest danger to

life in these two countriesCrime is relatively low

Pickpocketing the biggest crime against tourists

Protests do occur from time to time, but well advertised and we should be able to avoid if one is scheduled to occur.

Behaviour During TripStudents are to comply with laws of the

country as well as all school rules and expectations while on the trip. Failure to do so can and will likely result in

disciplinary action upon returnAny behaviour or actions that can or does

endanger the student or anyone else is a basis for immediate return of the student to New Zealand

Supervision During Trip It will be impossible for me to supervise your child 100% of the time we

are away.

You must understand supervision will not be 24 hour—7 days a week. You must agree for them to participate under these conditions.

I will apply due care and meet reasonable expectations for a group of this age and capability.

However, there will be large periods of time where the students will be “wandering together” without me, or be left alone in their hostel rooms, etc.

Students will always have my cellphone number, and be expected to follow the instructions of their host family or myself to ensure their safety.

When sent to explore without me they will have maps and be with at least one other student, as well as have a “safety checkpoint” to meet back at.

Beyond this, I expect them to apply due caution as the mature young adults they are, and that you as their parent are permitting to leave the country.
