Construction

• The Titanic was built by Harland and Wolfe, an Irish ship building company.

• It was built in Belfast.

• The Titanic was for a company called White Star Lane.

• It was built in 1908 and took 3 years to build.

• It was supposed to be one of the most largest boat ever built.

Facilities on board

• There were a lot of facilities onboard the Titanic but there were different facilities for different passengers.

• 1st class-Smoking room for men only, dining saloon, grand staircase, reception room, veranda café, palm court, café Parisian, gymnasium, barber, heated pool, squash court, Turkish bath and a reading room for ladies only.

• 2nd class-dining saloon, entrance, dining room and a library.

• 3rd class-main entrance and a

dining room.

Maiden Voyage

• The Titanic went from Southampton and then onto Cherbourg in France to collect more passengers and then it went to Queenstown in Ireland and then the ship was meant to arrive in New York but it never made it there.

The Sinking

• The Titanic sank on the 14th/15th April 1912. The Titanic started to sink on the 14th at about 23.40 and then the ship fully sank at 2.20 on the 15th, it took 2 hours and 40 minutes to sink. The cause of the sinking was that the Titanic collided with an Iceberg and approximately 1,500 died and only about 706 survived.

Aftermath

• The Titanic's sinking was horrible and a lot of people died and only a few people did survive.

• It was an awful night and the people that got threw into the lifeboats watched the Titanic sink.
