Lost Pets
By The Sprites
We are addressing the plight of pet owners whose pets have gone missing. Their dog could have run off while out on a walk someday and not come back. Perhaps someone else might have stumbled upon a dog with no owner present.
Even if a pet is found, the owner him/herself may not be able
to find out where it has been taken to.
The core question we are addressing with the app are - Are you worried about your pet getting lost? Or have you
ever found a pet but don’t know who the owner is?
Accessible on the app 24/7 so that pets in need are always able to be helped.
[Mini Elevator Pitch]
My team, The Sprites, is developing a mobile appto help pet owners to find their pet if lost. This would help the endless posts on social media of people losing pets and time
wasted searching for the pet.
8/10 people interviewed said they would use the app7/10 people interviewed lived in fifeAll agreed that if there was a simple easy app to help find missing pets.
App must be simple and easy to navigate
Take the pet to the police although they don’t do anything.
Take it to an animal shelter won’t help much either because they will keep the pet and not try to find the owner
The main features that the app needs to function are: pet profiles,
buttons, images, search bar, inbox, photo recognition.
Because of advice given to us by an expert and the feedback we have
gotten from our survey, we have decided to limit the area that our app works in to Fife.
The content which will be images, inbox messages and
photo recognition which will be stored on a cloud.
The thing our app is based on is the fact that too many people who have lost their pets have not been able to find them again. Our app
will still remain free of charge, as it is unlikely a user will be willing to pay to use this. We do not know how we are going to fund the app.

We made a questionnaire and we got a lot of good feedback
on that which we were happy about. We also spoke to a couple of experts about our app.
