About The Chorus

Director:

Susan Leach - Hebert

Accompanist: David Wallace

About The Chorus The South Windsor Community Chorus members share a desire to provide entertainment, musical growth and education, personal challenge, creativity, and community service. The Chorus welcomes voices (with or without musical background) from South Windsor and the surrounding towns. This organization originally began in 1971 as “Friends of Music.” Bobbie Reeves (Director) and Karen Krinjak (Accompanist) volunteered their services to help raise money for band uniforms for the South Windsor High School. Today, membership ranges from 40 to 50 singers from towns throughout the region. The Chorus performs two major concerts a season, winter and spring, as well as shorter programs throughout the community. Our repertoire consists of light classical, popular show tunes, and traditional numbers. The group is sponsored in part by the Recreation Department of the Town of South Windsor, through the generosity of companies and organizations in the community, as well as by members of the chorus themselves. The Chorus awards its’ “Friends of Music” $500 scholarship each year, to a graduating Senior of South Windsor High School, pursuing a career in music.

From The President …

I hope you’ll remember all the music you share with the South Windsor Community Chorus this evening. We, the SWCC enjoy every moment that we are performing for you, our “Friends in Music”, This season, The SWCC had the wonderful opportunity to share its Christmas music at the Annual Stop and Shop “Stuff A Truck“ event and performed Our National Anthem and God Bless America at the SW American Legion post’s annual “Wreaths Across America Ceremony” at Veterans Memorial Park. This evening we bring you “’Tis The Season” with the hope that you find Joy & Peace in our music. The SWCC message is always one of Joy and Hope. It is my wish that you will continue supporting us as we continue down the road ahead and feel these thanks I’m sending out to All of You.

From The Director … Tonight our humble and hard working community chorus members display their talent and love for singing. My hope is that their joy of music eminates from the stage to you in the audience. “Tis the Season” is a program inviting you to continue to celebrate the holiday miracles, to surround yourself in the rhythms of our world, and to wrap yourself in all that makes our New England Winters so magical.
