The regular meeting of the Student B:>dy was called to ortler Friday April 1, at 2:22Vz o'clock by Amanda Mouse. President. The minutes of th-3 last meeting were read by the Secretary, Sally Lou, and were then disapproved as read. The meeting was then turned over to Marietta Mountain, chairman of the program committee. \ The following program was then well, rendered.

These announcements were read: The Easter holiday has been modi-

lied so that it extends from April 13 to April 18. All students not desiring to have these dates may extend them to suit their own inclinations. |

All student' regulations and restrict- ions are to be removed for one week, beginning April 1. At the end of that time a unanimous vote will be' taken to restore them.

The scandal list was then delivered. This was very interesting and met the the approval of those present. It was as follows:

1. Fannie Fee and ,Magnolia Hill have been sent to their homes for two weeks for having worked too hard on their examinations.

2. Violetta Feme and Fernie Vio- letta have been campused for two weeks for not removing their hats when greeting faculty members on Main Street.

3. Geranium Leaf and Mignonetta Rose have been required to walk down town each day for three weeks' because they need this exercise. They also need to see the town.

4. Each student is required to chew one stick of chewing gum each clay to ward off the mumps.

5. All students have to stop study- ing and visit their neighbors as a punishment for their unsocialbleness.

The meeting was then dejourned to meet again next time.

AUNT PRUNELLA'S CORNER

Dear Aunt Prunella, As 1 look forward to the future, I

feel much concern. You know, I in- tend to make a cool million teaching school, and I don't know what to do with it. 1 don't want to squander it; I want it to be useful.

Katherine Snapp Dear Katherine,

I am glad that you want to spend your future fortune wisely. Here's what I want you to do. Found a home for stray cats. Just think of the plea- sure you "will derive by founding an asylum for homeless felines. How they will flock to your door where a warm welcome awaits them! Society will be indebti'd to you then, so think it over, my dear.

Aunt Prunella

Dear Aunt Prunella, Often when 1 am with a crowdtof

girls I want to call one girls atten- tion to something, and don't know how to do it without the others know- ing just what I am doing. How can I find a new "high sign"?

Dear Virginia, My child, there is nothing new

under the sun, and 1 thought that you knew that. However, this sign is not as common as some of the others. Wear an odd piece of jewelry. Say, oh, a ring, for example. When you want to call a friend's attention to something, just say, ''Oh, Soandso, look at may ring!" Then she can see what you really want her to. It might not be a bad idea to arrange beforehand with the lady so that she won't give you away by being ignor- ant of your sign. Jry it once.

Aunt Prunella

Dear Aunt Prunella, Recently some very heavy duties

have fallen upon my shoulders. As I am a frivolous sort of girl, 1 feel that I in (At mend-my ways befotfc-assum- ing said duties. How can I acquire a dignified air?

Said Johnny-jump-up to Bouncing Bet, "Let's take a wajk thrgouh the April

wet. So in Lady's Slipper and Fox Glove

fair She strolled with him to get some air.

Sweet William watched from behind the trees

As they strolled along in the evening breeze

While Daisy turned pale, and quickly wilted

To think that for Betty she had been jilted. _

Rev. Jack-in-the-Pulpit observed the two «

And though—''! shall soon have some work to do."

But Bouncing Betty, the heartless coquette,

Could not be sure of wild Johny yet For the night before, neath a bril- liant moon With Black-Eyed-Sue he'd been seen

to spoon.

Said Johnny "My dear, we're a very good pair,

No other maid could be half so fair. " But Betsy was wise—not a clinging

vine, And she knew he was handing her

just a line. So she kissed him once, and she kissed

him twice^— But said for a husband he wouldn't

be nice.

So once again through the April weather

The two came strolling along to- J gether. The heart of Betty he could not rob— And Jack-in-the-Pulpit was out of a

job.

MORE PERSONALS

Mr. and Mrs.. J. N. Mclllwraith left Tuesday on an extended tour of the Pacific,, and points South. It is Mr. McJUwraith's purpose to ascer- tain just what degree above horizon the North Star will be when one is on a Hawaiian beach in the moon- light enjoying sweet ukelele strains wafted on the tropic breeze. This information will be gratefully re- ceived by Mina Thomas who is doing research work in writing a geopraph- ical guide book, using the stars and planets as starting points.

Martha Spencer, Martha Minton, Mary Ferebee, Lottie Cundiff, and Klsie 1'roffit have taken up swim- ming and tennis as a means of reduc- ing surplous weight.

Mr. Johnston takes his coffee plain for breakfast, two lumps for lunch and three lumps for dinner.

Alice Clarke leaves for Atlantic City next Friday as ''Miss Harrison- burg", (0 compete in the Atlantic City bathing beauty contest. Hav- ing carried off the honors elsewhere, the school is confidant that Alice will return with "Miss America" honors.

Mr. Varner will entertain his Bible classes by taking them on a trip to the Holy Land. The tour will last the entire summer. The first two months will be spent in and around Paris, the last month will be spent at points of interest in Palestine. The C'ass anticipate a dip in the Dead Sea. There a distance swimming contest will be held. The class Is, at present, in training.

FRAT FROLIC

Maury Hall roof was the setting for a most enjoyable roof garden party given by the Rho Sigma Chis to V. P. I. cadets over twenty-one years old. Guests began arriving at seven twenty-nine and a half p. m. The receiving line was made up of the faculty's cousins—limited to the first degrees. The hostesses were fortu- nate in securing the Waring Pennsyl- vanians who were most lively nnd pepful. The girls wore dainty morn- ing ginghams, and frilly aprons. There was one restriction, however, as to the dress: no dresses were to be worn above the knees. The cadets wore knickers and shirts of pastel shades.

The orchestra played "Sleep", from eight till eleven thirty. From then until one o'clock, they played ''That Naughty Waltz", to the strains of which many daintly shod, and many heavily booted couples tripped to their respective abodes.

The cadets were the week-end guests of the Rho Sigma Chis.

WEDDING OF INTEREST

Absolute proof has been found for the old maxim, "Every dog has his day. " Miss Cantaloupe Green and Mr. Hotfoot Speed were married just over the State line late Saturday nite

by the Reverend Earlie Wurne.

The bride wore a gown of flamingo

blue sport cloth, and carried a show-

er bouquet of early tulips.

There were no attendants. Mr.

and Mrs. Speed will be at home to

any friends in the Student Body after

June 8, 1927.
