• Pancho villa was also responsible for a raid on Columbus, New Mexico, in 1916, which was the first attack on U.S soil since 1812.

• Pancho villa was one of the most prominent revolutionary generals!

• Pancho villa was born on June 5th, 1878 and he died on July 20, 1923, he was 45 when he died.

1921-Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

• The tomb is guarded 24 hours a day seven days a week.

• There has been a guard on duty ever since 1937.

• A guard will regularly spend 5 hours getting their uniform ready for duty.

• Banting first tested his new theory to cure cancer on dogs.

• He would remove the pancreas from the dog and then the dog would show signs of diabetes then he would inject the insulin into the dogs bloodstream and the dogs symptoms would be cured.

• The first human test with insulin was tested on 14 year old Leonard Thompson.

• Dr. Fredrick Banting found out that insulin does not cure diabetes but it helps slow down the symptoms.

• Leonard Thompson died fourteen years later.

• During this earthquake there was also a 55ft tsunami.

• This was the biggest earthquake that ever hit Japan at the time.

• The record for the biggest earthquake to hit Japan was beat on March 11, 2011.

1924-Hubble space telescope.• Edwin P. Hubble is the man who

the Hubble telescope is named after.

• The telescope takes pictures of outer space and send them back down to earth.

• The Hubble Telescope was brought into space in 1990.

• Edwin P. Hubble also has a crater on the moon named after him.

• He died on September 28th, 1953.• He died of a blood clot in his brain.

• On March 18th, 1925 a tornado hit Missouri, Illinois, and Indiana.

• The death toll was about 700.• The tornado lasted three and a half

hours stretching over the three states.

• Richard E. Byrd was a famous aviator.

• His first flight was on January 15, 1929.

• His most famous expedition was the flight over the south pole.

• Walter E. Deimer invented bubble gum.• Bubble gum was invented in 1928.• The regular gum color was pink.• The most popular five flavors were,

watermelon, mint, strawberry, cherry, and peppermint.

• His gum was so successful that it sold over 1.5 million dollars in the first year.

• The gum only sold for a penny a piece.
