March 12th 2011 the 55th Annual Newport, Rhode Island Saint Patrick's Day Parade will be held, rain,
snow, or shine. It will begin promptly at 11:00am from Newport City Hall and will proceed to Carroll
Avenue at Saint Augustin’s Church in the heart of the Fifth Ward. The parade this year is estimated to
last 2 hours and will include 10 Pipe Bands, 12 Marching Bands, 4 Fife & Drum Corps, 3 Clown Units, 7
reenactment units, and a host of local, state, and regional organizations including police and fire units,
social/fraternal organizations, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Schools, and non-profits.

ST PATRICK’S DAY FESTIVIITIES!

March 5, 2011, Begins at 12:00pm. The city kicks off its celebration of Irish heritage in Rhode Island and
the Blackstone Valley with the always festive and colorful parade. The Parade steps off from Division
Street and Columbus Avenue, travels along Walcott Street to Main Street, and ends at City Hall on

March 19, 2011 The St. Patricks Day festivities
start with the 3rd annual St. Pat's 5K race. The
race will start at 11:15 a.m. at the Rhode Island
State House on Smith Street and will be an out
and back loop on the annual Providence Saint
Patrick's Day Parade route. Thousands of peo-
ple will be cheering on runners and walkers as
they celebrate Saint Patrick. The St. Pat's 5K
will be the last race in the "Tour de Patrick" race
series. The annual Parade will start at 12pm and
take place at the intersection of Smith Street
(Route 44) and Hilltop Avenue, proceeding east to the State House. The post race and parade celebra-
tions will be held at Patrick's Pub and Ri Ra.
