BEAT THE SQUEEZE: HOW TO EQUALIZE LIKE A PROThe guide helps you understand how your ears respond to pressure and the best ways to protect them while scuba diving. From simple cases of swimmer’s ear to barotrauma, divers are vulnerable to ear problems because the delicate mechanisms that govern our hearing and balance aren’t designed for the rapid pressure changes that result from diving.013-1035 Beat the Squeeze: Equalize Like a Pro

7 MISTAKES THAT DIVERS MAKE AND HOW TO AVOID THEMPrior to diving, you should take an honest assessment of whether you are medically fit to dive. Be vigilant for signs of acute illness (like congestion) and familiarize yourself with the risks and essential precautions associated with any chronic diseases. Learn safety guidelines, become conscientious and responsible, and prepare smarter so we can enjoy our dives.013-1036 7 Mistakes Divers Make and How to Avoid Them

13 WAYS TO RUN OUT OF AIR AND HOW NOT TORunning out of breathing gas is the most common dive incident and the number one cause of diving fatalities. Even the most skilled divers can make mistakes and run out of gas. This guide covers the 13 most common errors that lead to out-of-air emergencies and how to avoid these situations.013-1037 13 Ways to Run Out of Air and How Not To

DIVER IDENTIFICATION SYSTEMThe DAN Diver Identification System (DIDS) makes it easy to monitor open-water divers, so you can have the confidence that your divers have safely returned.

DIDS APPLICATION & ORDER FORM

Supported by DAN Individual and DAN Corporate Donors, the DAN DIDS program is a safety initiative that allows operators to manage and track divers. Available in red or white, this valuable tool comes complete with a DAN tag board, 12 numbered tags, and a reusable dive roster to log diver names and DIDS numbers. When using both a red and white board, up to 24 divers can be accounted for to ensure that every diver returns safely.

MANAGING YOUR DIVERS HAS NEVER BEEN EASIER

1. Prior to diving, the dive leader assigns each diver an unique DIDS number.

2. The diver removes the numbered tag from the DIDS board and secures it to his/her BCD.

3. The dive leader logs the diver’s name and tag number on the roster before that diver enters the water.

4. After the dive, the diver removes the tag and returns it to the board.
