About:My goal is to make the world a better place...my second goal is to eat as many burritos as possible!

The Out There Guys CredibilityWhen he finished his Peace Corps stint, he rode his bicycle from Honduras to Boulder and both video taped and blogged the journey (posts were printed in the Daily Camera). This was the first of many cross country bicycle rides chronicled via social media. He worked on the Out There video adventure series on Boulder Public Access TV, which is how he become the Out There Guy. His videos were also published on the Daily Cameras website and YouTube

And He Made A lot of YouTube Videos About His Adventures!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYZrs-fr7H4 (Polar Plunge)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_l35-WvGLz4 (Parkour)As well as dozensmaybe hundredsof videos about such adventures as: - attending ninja school, climbing Longs Peak, rolling a kayak, paragliding, the Beijing Olympics, hoop dancing, and naked bike riding Not surprisingly, he ended up on a Reality TV show, Out of The Wild: Venezuela, on the Discovery Channel

and now hes the host of new Internet TV show, Paradise Hunters, a job which he won through an online contest.

Effective Use of Emotion/Pathos to Promote His Brand, i.e. adventure leads to happiness and success (you dont need a lot of money just friends, fun and food to enjoy life):

His Favorite Quotations, per his Facebook page"You can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation. Plato

"Beware what you set your heart upon, for it surely shall be yours." Emerson

Today you are you, that is truer then true. There is no one alive who is youer than you." Dr. Suess

"Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened."

"I know I drive some people crazy with what seems to be ridiculous optimism, but it has always worked for me." Jim Henson

"Success doesn't bring you happiness...Happiness brings you success."

It is more fun to talk with someone who doesn't use long, difficult words but rather short, easy words like "What about lunch?" Winnie the Pooh

The Out There Guys Logical Argument for the Adventure Lifestyle Is Also an Emotional Argument: Its Fun.

Life Is A lot Less Stressful If Youre Doing Something You Like and Feel Good About

How the OTG looks, talks, actsLooks: Athletic, dresses in outdoor gear, shorts, running shoes. The aesthetic is casual, almost beachy.

Talks: Upbeat, positive, promotes good works. Recently he posted to Facebook, Check out my friend Judy Pitt's initiative in Kenya, they're doing inspiring things! Acts: Goofy, fun-loving. Rides his bike like a surfboard, Polar Plunges with flair, ready to jump out of a plane and make funny faces while doing it.

Cultural CodesUnattached (in an open relationship with sea creepture) which communicates his ability to wander and openness to different kinds of people and relationshipsHe shows he is a citizen of the world: Speaks multiple languages (lists English as Ingles), is unafraid to ride his bicycle from Honduras to Boulderor at least presents himself that way.He uses humoroften physical humor such as standing on his bicycle like its surfboardto promote his ideas. This speaks to his love of embracing ones inner child rather than having to be a worker bee adult in a cubicle.Hes self deprecating. Job title: Monkey Boy at DuzerCruzer Productions. This says, This is no big deal anyone can do it.Dont take yourself too seriously; speak less, do more. He quotes Winnie the Pooh: It is more fun to talk with someone who doesn't use long, difficult words but rather short, easy words like "What about lunch?" The Out There Guy Appeals to Adventure Seekers and WannabesAppeals to men and women, most likely free-spirited individuals (or those whod like to be). If you didnt find his lifestyle intriguing, why read or watch? Ages 20s-50s. Athletic (or those whod like to be more so). Middle class to upper middle class. People who work a lotand are already financially comfortable, and still striving for moreand wonder itd make more sense to sell everything and travel the world. Or at a minimum, live more simply. Poor people wouldnt have the choice, the very wealthy probably wouldnt be riding their bikes everywhere, living on beans.

His Message: You Dont Need A lot of Stuff in This Life. He tells people: Heres whats possible if you follow your dreams or watch my videos and live vicariously! Ill make you laugh while showing you the beauty of the world and its people. Theres an environmental message between the lines. Hes a vegan, who has never owned a car (and doesnt even have a license). And hes the, happiest boy on planet Earth.
