Local friends and family, Allen Jones and Megan Pifer have teamed up again this year and would

love to invite you to a musical celebration of the Christmas season—an evening of originals, timeless classics

and fun favorites (Allen’s angsty tune about holiday shopping at the mall, anyone?) This will be a more stripped

down and intimate concert than years past and we’d be honored to have you join us! December 8, 7:00 PM

at Chapin Fellowship Bible Church, 1632 Chapin Road next to Chapin Family Practice.

YOUR SAFETY—OUR CONCERN

In light of recent events, some in our Body may have concerns or

questions about what can be done to ensure all of our members and worshipers are safe. While we know that true protection in this life and hope for a future are only to be found in the Lord, the leadership

also has previously established a Safety & Security Committee. This committee is primarily composed of people with law enforcement and/

or emergency responder experience, and they are tasked with leading our church in best-practices and planning, so as to be prudent and

faithful in our earthly responsibilities. This committee has spent much time and effort researching all the information available; prayerfully,

they have put in place policies and procedures to deal with any emergency situation that could occur at our church. Every active

Deacon and Ruling Elder has been furnished with a copy of these procedures and should know how to help every member respond in

any emergency situation. In today’s world, there is no way to guarantee total safety in any given place, but every effort possible is being made

to keep CPC as safe and secure as possible. Even though our purpose as believers is to live for the Kingdom, nevertheless, we pray daily for

God’s wall of protection over His house and His people. There are some areas in our plans which the safety and security committee, along with the staff and others, are working to review and improve as our

world continues to change. Periodically we will respond to frequently asked questions through the newsletter. By the grace of God, and with

the continuing efforts of this committee, our staff and other professionals along with the cooperation from the congregation, may

every event at CPC be a time of praise and worship rather than a tragedy.

ReFormed Christmas

“Ugly Sweater” Party December 17 from 5-7PM

@ CPC Ugly Sweater Parties are fun and

exciting! But one reason we celebrate is because we no

longer have to wear "Ugly Sweaters" in Christ. When Adam

and Eve rebelled against God, He slaughtered an animal to use its skin for a covering of their shame. Ultimately that

animal skin deteriorated and did not last. Humanities shame

was not forever covered by that original sacrifice, thus the

first ugly sweater. Now, we celebrate the righteousness of

Jesus that covers us; His goodness has replaced our badness.

Come celebrate at ReFormed Community Night as we wear

ugly sweaters to celebrate the humor

and irony that such things do not

make us right before God, but it is

the Father, Son, Spirit that cover us with a beautiful Sweater that will not

deteriorate! We will have an all out

celebration so please bring food!

Contact Trevor for needs.

AGAPE

GROUPS

Every week we have

Agape Groups, or our

discipleship groups, where students come together to grow together in the

grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus. We have various groups that meet

up throughout the week. If you would like more information about any one

of these groups, please contact Trevor Allen at [email protected].

Mentorship: We have many opportunities for 1-on-1 mentorship. This is

for students who are interested in understanding what it means to believe

and live out our student ministry motto, “All of life is worship!” in a more

deep and engaging way.

Tuesday night: 6-8th Grade Guys meet up

Wednesday morning: HS Bible Study at the Coffee Shelf

Wednesday morning: Bible Studies at SHHS

Friday afternoon: 6-8th Grade Girls meet up

Sunday night: 5-7 PM: ReFormed Community Night is when the whole

student ministry meets up to hang out together.

MAINE SERVICE TRIP MEETING

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 8 AT 7:15 PM We will have our first meeting for our upcoming service trip to Maine

at the end of July. This meeting will be a time of prayer, story telling,

vision casting, and just getting a general idea of who would like to go.

Meet at Chapin Presbyterian Church, 7:15 PM in the family center on

December 8. Dates for the trip are July 23-29.

“This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world

that we might live through him.” —1 John 4:9

Preschool version: “God ... sent his one and only Son into the world.”

Wow, we are starting our Christmas lessons this Sunday! For the next three weeks we will

read about Anticipating the Coming King from Isaiah 11:1-10, the angel's announcement to Mary

and Joseph, and Jesus’ Birth. I pray your children will be here each week at 9:15 AM to hear these marvelous stories

about our Savior!

The children received an Advent activity that starts this Friday! Praying these Scriptures and devotions

will bless our families and draw us all closer to Jesus.

Join us THIS SATURDAY at 10:00 am in the family center as we put up the children’s Christmas tree

and make our own ornaments for it! It will be a fun day of service and fellowship for all our families.

Our younger children will bless our 10:30 AM service on Dec. 17 as they lead us in worship with their

singing and praises to God. Hope you can all be here.

May you experience the wonder and love of our Savior as we celebrate His birth.

See you Sunday. I love you! Mrs. Jackie
