Dear Parishioners, The image of the seed gives us a powerful message in the Gospel today. As an entire field of wheat can come from one grain, so to the Kingdom of God can spread throughout the world. For the field to grow, the grain must die and be buried. Obviously the image of Jesus’ death and therefore His Resurrection gives the opportunity for all to receive eternal life. The image for us is that sometimes we need to die to ourselves to allow Jesus to spread His life through us. Fr. Brandt

Give love in action. Our works of love are nothing but works of peace. Let us do them with greater love and efficiency: each in his or her own work, in daily life, at home and with one’s neighbor. Be happy and at peace. Accept whatever He give and give whatever He takes with a big smile. Mother Teresa

CANCER PATIENT SUPPORT MINISTRY

The reality of the disease of Cancer is widely pervasive throughout our society. Within our Parish Community cancer

seems to touch more families each week. Though the exposure to cancer can have common factors in most individuals, circumstances can be unique for many cancer patients and their families. The age of a patient and their family structure can create unique factors in people’s lives. The issue of recurrence and the severity of an initial diagnose can also contribute to the unique circumstances for a patient. The experience of supporting a family member through a death caused by cancer, can give an individual specific insights which may be helpful to others. As a parish, we cannot affect the presence of cancer in the families of our parish, but we can strive to assist these families with prayers and support.

The Cancer Patient Support Ministry at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish is beginning. This is a ministry which will allow parishioners with experience in dealing with the reality of cancer to assist other parishioners who receive a diagnosis of cancer. The mission of this ministry is to connect parishioners to one another in their journey through the realities of cancer treatment. The mission includes creating a parish prayer list specifically for those who are dealing with cancer. Anyone who would like to give support to others or who are looking to receive support through this journey, please send an email to the

following address: [email protected]. If you do not have email access call the Parish Office: (610) 287-2525 ext100.
