BACKGROUND

The debate over whether or not Abortion should be legal has divided Americans since 1973. A poll on abortion revealed 51% of Americans consider themselves pro-life, while 42% consider themselves pro-choice. I think that abortion should be illegal because it is murdering an innocent and helpless person.

opinions, personal belief and experience

I believe that if a woman didn’t want her child, she should at least give it a chance to live and give it up for adoption, not kill it before it’s born. Babies have a right to life, but they are not given the chance once they are aborted.There is no difference between murder and abortion, abortion is killing someone. “The Sixth Commandment of the Bible's Old Testament (Exodus 20:13) is "Thou shalt not kill.- the bible" Abortion involves killing a human being and defies a commandment from God.”

My Mom had a friend in high school who got pregnant and didn’t want the baby so she got an abortion. It brought her pain and sorrow. Every year on the anniversary of the abortion came she weeped of regret.

COUNTERARGUMENT

“A fetus is not a human being. Abortion is terminating a pregnancy, not a baby. Personhood at conception is not a proven biological fact. Personhood begins at birth.”

At four weeks, which you may not even know that you are pregnant, the baby has already started to develop its brain and spinal cord.

Those who chose to Abort brings regret. “Fetuses feel pain during an abortion. If the fetus is beyond 20 weeks of gestation.-Pro life Action League.” Not only it is likely a woman will suffer emotional pain with abortion the fetus can feel the excruciating pain even more.

Conclusion

❖ Abortion should be illegal because its like murder. Making Abortion illegal will change the world for the better. Abortion is murder and if murder is illegal, Abortion should be too.
