Review

• This is for team eyes only.

• It covers everything we went over in every practice in case you are new to the team or if you weren’t able to get to each practice.

• You will be responsible for each offensive call and should have a understanding of each formation.

Basic Reminders

• Run through every disc, drops should be unacceptable but getting D’ed on an in-cut is not tolerable.

• Know your own limitations, don’t try to do too much with the disc.

• On this team we respect the handlers so on stall 4 we turn and lock eyes with the dump and stick with them until they get open.

Page 4: The mighty ducks

Horizontal Offense

• This will be our main offense we use to advance the disc up the field.

• Handlers remember to keep your spacing• Cutters make sure you clear all the way to the

sidelines• Cutters also be aware of where your

teammates our cutting so we can keep the flow of the offense.

• Out of this we can run Lost and Pops

Page 5: The mighty ducks

The two middle cutters are our primaries so they will start the cutting. One will want to do a fake deep while the other fakes in. They they cut vertically for the in or deep cut. If they do not get the disc they clear to the sideline to allow the outside cutters to cycle in.

Page 6: The mighty ducks

Lost is a handler call for when the disc is stuck on the sideline. The cutters cut as normal but for some reason they cant get the to them. The handler with disc will make the call setting the play into action. The middle handler will cut for the dump and if it is not there will make the up-line cut. Once the up-line cut goes the far handler has to cycle in to fill in the dump.

Force

Page 7: The mighty ducks

This could be called a set play but I hope that it starts to become second nature and something that happens spontaneous. The last back in the stack will back the fake out and back in cut. While this cut is going the second back will back the fake in and back out cut. The throw goes to the in cut. The handler that just threw it runs up and gets the lob pass out and should have a free huck to the deep cut.

Vertical Offense

• This is always our endzone offense and if we get a turn on defense, we might have to run it because we lack the handlers.

• Make sure we cut both to the open side and the break side. We also need to get the occasional deep cut.

• We can run Stud, Big Bird, or Pop out of this offense.

Force

The blue crosses have been put in to better illustrate the force side. We want to take advantage of the way the defense is set up by putting the disc break side right off the start. We want to set up with one of our taller players in the back of the stack. Right off the “disc in” our handler will call Big Bird will put the breakside hammer right to our player in the back.

Force

Same setup as Bird Bird but maybe this time we don’t have the tall player to run it. We want to call it before the disc gets checked in because we have to let the last in the stack know that he cant make the his usual in cut. Instead on this call the handler is just going to toss the disc to the open side over his mark, then the first guy in the stack goes and gets it. IMPORTANT the throw happens before the cut.

Man Defense with the Force

• I want this team to play tough D every point, but that becomes a lot easier if we are all on the same page.

• Who ever is guarding the man with the disc is “forcing” him to only throw to one side of the field.

• Everyone else is marking up to protect the open side-the side of the field the mark is leaving open.

• We do not let them beat us on the in-cut because we want them to throw the huck. We can cover the huck with our athleticism. If you do have a mismatch with a faster player I want you to give up the in-cut, but don’t give them too much room.

Page 13: The mighty ducks

Our guys in the red are set up perfectly here, we are not giving up the in-cut to the cutters and we are not making the dump throw easy. The shaded area depicts what the mark is taken away.

Page 14: The mighty ducks

This will be our zone that we throw in case we are getting beat bad in our man D. Up front at the disc is our three man cup. They will be forcing the disc to the middle of the field trying to force a bad throw. The two in the middle are wings and they will man up on anyone cutting in. The last two are deep defenders in case they throw the

huck.
