SEXUAL REPRODUCTIONSEXUAL REPRODUCTION

• A process by which the egg cell nuclei and the sperm cell are brought together through fertilization

PARTSPARTS

•TESTES OR TESTICLES

-oval bodies consisting of fine tubules enclosed in a tough, fibrous sheath

GONADSGONADS

Page 6: The male reproductive system

SEMINIFEROUS TUBULES• Produce sperm cell or spermatozoa

EPIDIDYMIS• Mass of tubes along the sides of the

testes• Temporary storage place of the

sperm

Page 7: The male reproductive system

VAS DEFERENS• It receives the sperm, carries

them up and delivers them into the urethra

SEMINAL VESICLE• A gland that produce part of the

seminal secretion

Page 8: The male reproductive system

SCROTUM• A bag or pouch which kept the

testes cooler than the body temperature

• Made up of involuntary muscle fibers as part of the skin that make the scrotum draw up when chilled and hang down when heated

PROSTATE GLAND• Produces a thin, watery,

alkaline secretion that mixes with the sperm cell and other secretion to form the semen

COWPERS GLAND• located together with the

prostate gland near the upper end of the urethra

Page 11: The male reproductive system

PENIS

• A mass of erectile tissue (blood spaces surrounded by fibrous case) arranged in three columns

FORESKIN OR PREPUCE

• A loose skin ends in a fold which covers the sensitive head of the penis

Page 12: The male reproductive system

TESTOSTERONE• Male sex hormone

• Controls the development of secondary sex characteristics, making a man feel and look like a man

MAJOR PARTSMAJOR PARTS

1.Head

2.Neck

3.Connecting piece

4.Tail

Page 16: The male reproductive system

• When the sperm penetrates an ovum during fertilization the tail separates from the rest of the sperm, the head and the connecting piece enter the ovum and the zygote is formed
