Connected Campus ProjectIs…Intentional use of current technology to remove geographic barriers to success.
In JCPS, we have real geographic barriers between our students and success.
Connected Campus ProjectNot only does the Connected Campus project connect students to their chosen classes, but it connects instructors as well.
Gamification of Curriculum
Our solution increases engagement and responds to student needs and interests without sacrificing rigor.(Hokkanen, 2012)
Lack of engagement and student buy-in in the GAP group is a problem in JCPS.
Gamification of Curriculum
Course designs engage students in narrative driven instruction.
Increase retention of information, as well as present information in a format students already engage with in their free time.
We are already implementing this at The Phoenix School of Discovery this year.
Whole Learner Assessment Plan
Our solution responds to this problem by collecting student health data on a daily basis through physical education in gamified classrooms.
Student wellness as a whole is a problem in JCPS.
Whole Learner Assessment Plan
Between each class, students are presented with a short physical activity.
This creates resilience in the four areas of personal growth: Mental, Emotional, Physical, and Social Skills.
Urban Connectivity Project-Based
LearningOur solution connects classrooms, meeting the 8th core value of partnership and community as described in the 2015 JCPS strategic plan.(Hargens, 2013)
Disconnected islands of success are a problem in JCPS.
Urban Connectivity Project-Based Learning
Our solution removes geographic barriers will create a greater sense of unity of purpose in our schools.
Digital Documentation of Proficiency
Our solution is that recorded work will be saved using cloud storage to meet the first and third goals of the 2015 Vision statement, Increased Learning and Stakeholder Involvement.(Hargens, 2013)
In JCPS, student portfolios are losing their importance, while the job-market demands examples of useful experience.
Digital Documentat
ion of Proficiency
By creating digital portfolios of student success, we allow students to access their work at any time.
Portfolios will become living digital documents, ready to be used in resumes, applications, and professional portfolios in the workforce.
We are already implementing this at The Phoenix School of Discovery this year.
