WIRESince their formation in London in 1976, the members of Wire have maintained and advanced a musical project which treats the creative potential of a rock band as a fluid, amorphous medium. As removed from self-conscious intellectualism as they are from the inherent conservatism of much rock music, Wire employ their unique, endlessly restless and risk-taking creativity to question every aspect of songwriting, recording and performance.

Youth Arts Collective North East is made up of youth, arts and community organisations from across Aberdeen city and shire. We are creating opportunities for young people aged 0-25 to shape and participate in the arts and to find, explore and develop their creative potential.

We’ll be offering opportunities for young people to explore the arts as a career path, to get involved as young directors, actors, dancers and artists. We’ll be trying to find the next generation of the world’s theatre technicians, filmmakers and young journalists interested in dance, theatre, music and art.

But to start with, we want to ask you what you’d like to see us working on. Young people are at the heart of what we do, and so it makes sense for us to ask what you need first.

BUYING TICKETSIn person: at the Music Hall or HMT (Mon-Sat 9.30am-6pm) or take a chance on the door, The Lemon Tree box office opens just before every show.On the phone: call 01224 641122 Mon-Sat 9.30am-6pm.Online: aberdeenperformingarts.com has all the latest listings and ticket info.

WHERE IS IT?You will find The Lemon Tree right behind Marischal College on West North Street – just in case you’re not sure, here’s a map:

By bus: there is a bus stop right outside and we’re just round the corner from Union St, King St and Broad St so lots of busesBy car: try the car parks at Frederick St, Marischall College and Gallowgate.

HOW MUCH?We’ve printed the whole price of ticket in the brochure, this includes the booking fee (the only extra you’ll have to pay for is postage, but why not print your own at home?) – there could well be discounts for students, children, over 60s or APA Friends – just ask or check online.

DO I SIT OR STAND?A bit of both – we try and create the right atmosphere for each gig, some will have seats, some won’t – we’ve tried to list it where we can here.

WHAT DO THE TIMES MEAN?If it says ‘doors’ then that’s when the doors open and you get inside for a drink. If it says ‘start’ that’s when the show starts. Some shows have support acts, we can’t always confirm this until nearer the time and ‘start’ can mean the start of the support act, not the main act

HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE?All ages are welcome, but under 16s must be accompanied by an adult, and under 18s can’t be near the bars.
